I’ve bet Jetstream Jack for this, has had a bit of a reputation since being talked up by Elliott in his bumper days but hasn’t delivered yet despite hinting at ability on a few occasions over hurdles last season.
This season however he started off lovely, winning his beginners chase in good style, he was then tested in grade 2 company where he couldn’t match the toe of A Toi Phil from the 2nd last after a mistake, after that i assumed either this or the Irish Grand National would be the aim with him getting a run in in the grade 1 Novice over xmas for a bit more experience and a mark, Russell noticeably had him amongst horses throughout presumably to get him experience of jumping amongst others and he was very neat until the second last and he didn’t look to get hammered when a chance of finishing amongst the money was gone. I can see him sitting in 5th or 6th all the way and taking it up 3 or 4 out and galloping all the way to the line for the win and a ticket to the 4 miler before the Irish National.
If the ground does end up looking genuinely soft i’ll be backing Prince of Scars too and maybe a forecast also because he’s really well handicapped when there is enough juice

Supreme: Jenkins 25/1 Paddy Power e/w
Neptune: Saturnas 20/1 Various e/w
CC- Sizing John e/w 33/1 Various
Ryanair Ar Mad 2pts win 25/1 SportingbetI usually have one already on my shortlist for this, but wasn’t sure about it this year, but one or two definitely catch they eye.
List of entries……….
I’d be surprised if this was the season plan for Empire of Dirt, or Cause of Causes, and the same would apply to a few of them, so a select shortlist for me at the moment, and all of these look a fair price.
Fine Rightly – Big fan of the horse, and just short of G1 Level. The mark of 150 is fair, he travelled like a dream behind Douvan a few weeks back, and likes it here. 16’s is fair.
Prince of Scars – Not convinced this is a serious entry, but he’s always been on my radar, and also looked one for the better handicaps. Probably needs it soft, but he’s another who’s big at 16’s, and if the rain came, he’d be very interesting.
Stellar Notion – The switch to Henry De Bromheads yard looks to have done the trick, and he’s had 2 rock solid runs in The Munster National, and Paddy Power Chase. He’s got an obvious chance on those 2 runs, and the 20’s with Paddy Powers looks very generous.
Kylecrue – Has had easily his best season ever, and after a busy spell, which was rounded off by his fine 3rd in The Munster National, he’s had a nice break. If in the same form as before, a real danger to all, and still on a decent mark, despite the season he’s had. 33’s is far too big.
Dromnea – Rarely runs a bad race, and though I think he’s probably just short of the standard required for Aintree, I’ve always suspected that that is what connections want for him. This could be his last chance to get a rating to make The National, so you can be assured he’ll be giving it 100%. 33’s makes sense, certainly from an each way stance.
Gun to my head, and I’d say Fine Rightly at 16’s, but I’ll chew it over for a bit, but I will be having a go.
GL
They’ve done some job getting him a mark. 140 seems very lenient once he gets his ground and trip

I’m not too sure what i’ve done here in my highlighting attempt
but that above comment applies to Prince of Scars
I’m just going to copy and paste yours VTC :) If he goes that’s a huge price.

Gold Cup – Empire of Dirt 50’s Each Way (Stan James)
Fuming about Don Cossack. The stable have been very positive about him in recent weeks.
I don’t want to point fingers but this happens too often.
You’re being very harsh, they’ve been very upfront from the start that any issues at all and he’d be retired, they found heat in his leg yesterday and this morning everyone was informed with not a lot of laying done on betfair to my eye before the news was broken.
What more could they do

Champion Hurdle Brain power 1pt e/w 12/1 Various(can’t believe i didn’t have a nibble at the proper big prices after Ascot
)Stayers hurdle: Shaneshill 1pt e/w 20/1 Will Hill
Gold Cup Don Cossack 2pts win 12/1 Betvictor
Ho Ho Ho

I really like Brain Power for this, he looked like he was clueless last year but clearly had ability and ran a nice race at Punchestown at the tale end of the season with him finally looking to have an idea what a hurdle is.
Wasn’t knocked about on his reappearance at Cheltenham but travelled well for a good way and his jumping improved again and he then turned up at Sandown a couple of weeks later and after being keen early picked up off a slow pace and put the race to bed pretty quickly and then got a bit lonely in front to let Consul De Thaix within alength but the race was never really in doubt for me.
A strong gallop to help him settle should suit and if his jumping improves again he could be really well treated as i think he can mix it in Grade 1 company if he puts it all together. He’s still only 5 so open to tonnes of improvement still. David Mullins is a good booking too and i’m really looking forward to this one for my Christmas Bonus
Jonjo has had this in mind for Taquin De Seuil for a while i’m guessing and he’s my first choice, handles ground, track trip, should have no issues carrying a big weight and i can see him go close, Coleman’s a slight concern as although he’s a good rider i’m not sure he’ll suit TDS who i feel can do with being encouraged into his fences whereas Coleman prefers the gentler approach in general.
My other pick is Double shuffle, again will have no problem with track and trip and is lightly raced and improving, had a lovely prep finishing strongly around a course which may not have suited him and i expect him to come on again for that run, Tom Georges horses are flying at the minute and he’s another boy that could run a big 1.
No bet race, Cue Card should win but after a long season the price doesn’t appeal to me. In truth it’s all a big anti climax for me now that Don’s not running

Looks like we’re not going to get the showdown of all showdowns after all
Punchestown going to be a bit of an anti climax for me, i was really looking forward to this race and to getting to see Thistlecrack in the flesh for the first time and now neither will happen.
I might just watch it on TV now. Mind you that could change soon enough once the initial disappointment of Dons injury wears off.
I’m with Nathan here but then again i think we were both singing off the same hymnsheet in march thinking UDS was a good thing. I think a combination of a number of factors contributed to UDS run at Cheltenham, he wasn’t spot on, didn’t get an easy lead and Ruby gave him an unusual ride.
I think Townend reverts back to the old Un De Sceaux tomorrow and lets him run and jump as keen as he likes and plays catch me if you can,all this Ruby trying settling him down has taken a bit of his spark but i think we’ll see the old UDS tomorrow and Sprinter will get going too late and Dodging Bullets isn’t the same horse as last year.I’ll be trying to get my money back from March
A fool and his money eh…..Hestina in 3rd in the 4.05 was a similarly eyecatching performance. Jimmy won’t get done for overuse of the whip that’s for sure

Time’s drawing nearer and a cracker instore especially if Vautour turns up but he’ll not have enough in the heat of the battle to hold of our 2 stars
.
50 enough of a little wager for you TAPK? I’ll stretch to 100 if you want but anything more would be getting a bit much for me as i’d never even bet more than 2 or 3 hundred on any horse(might have that on him next week on the rails) so not going to go too mad on a fun bet albeit for a good cause whatever either of us choose.Come on the Don

Nice 1, only got 2/1 but i’ll take it

Well that didn’t go according to plan, not Johnsons fineswt hour imo, don’t know how he let Skelton such an easy time of it.
