    Absolutely gutted after that

Had the game under control when Red Barry scored our goal, then a calamitous error from the goal keeper gifted Dublin a lifeline

That really was a horrendous error,i was heartbroken watching it so i can just imagine what it was like for a Wexford man!

Todays finals could be very tight and i might decide later on to have a small bet on a draw for 1 of them or both! The only bet i’m going to do at the minute is Michael Murphy over 3.5 points at 5/6 in Donegal v Derry game-he’s not lived up to his billing as one of the countries top forwards so far this year(granted the system of play doesn’t help) but i’d say he’ll be allowed sit closer to goals today than he has and he could hit 6 or 7 points!

    M.Murphy over 3.5 points 5/6 40 euro

Glanusk came a never closer fourth to Jambalaya and Joe eile in 3rd 2 races back after Berry had ran into all kinds of trouble with Glanusk who was never near the pace and finished strongly,he was then upped in trip but didn’t appear to appreciate it so is back down to 7 furlongs today.

Blinkers are tried today which will hopefully spark him up a little so he’ll run closer to the pace and although Ricky Doyles claim basically nullifys the swing in weights with Jambalaya i still think Glanusk has his and Joe Eiles measure.

    Naas 8.00 Glanusk €40 win 11/2 W.H

    Bank +40

About a year back i was down at Bellewstown and i seen Sobrando lodge come 2nd in a bumper to smokey joe joe(went on to win a maiden hurdle and a couple of handicap hurdles) after a desperately weak ride,i said after that i’d keep an eye on the horse and he ran another decent race in a bumper before going over hurdles and running pretty badly each time.

He’s running this evening in a maiden flat race over 1 mile 2 and although it’s going to be his first time racing against flat bred horses and things might be happening a bit quick i feel if he’s anywhere near the front 4 or 5 coming to 3 furlongs out he could run into a place!

    Sobrando lodge 10 e/w 25/1 1/5 odds first 3 places Brucebetting

THM to be honest i’ve only seen a few highlights of Wexford games so it’s hard to gauge where they’re at but i’ve seen quite a bit of the Dubs and i’ve been impressed, this is the first time in years i’ve really felt they were genuine contenders for the All Ireland so it’ll take a big performance from Wexford to pull it off but stranger things have happened,oh and i backed Tyrone to win the All Ireland a while back so at the minute it looks like my opinions not worth much anyway

Good start to my thread anyway with Kilkenny doing the business, they did pretty much what i expected and have put their hat firmly back in the ring to win Liam!

if you really think every horse is in to win you’re in the wrong game my friend!get used to horses going full tilt for a couple of furlongs then landing in a heap!

Finding out who to follow and when to follow them is a skill in itself, check out kingfishers thread in the lays and plays section-there’s a man that knows his game!

The run up to Cheltenham is like the grown up version of preparing for Christmas. I get more excited each year.

Royal Ascot is more like the run up to Easter. It’s ok and you get a few eggs but it’s just different and ultimately not as good.

Iwas trying to think up a good way to phrase my feelings but you’ve just summed it up perfectly! Family and friends don’t know what to make of me from about the start of March until the festival starts!

Kingfisher i’ve been following this thread for a while now and i’ve been impressed, you seem to know your stuff (a lot more than i do anyway).

Just wondering where you would think Indian trail is likely to head next, caught my eye in the Dash on Saturday and wouldn’t mind gathering a few pound to have a decent bet on him next time out!

    Finsceal Beo!!!!!!!

    That’s the one Slewman!

    What does it mean?

Think it means a Legend in life or living legend or something along those lines, the same owner(Micheal Ryan) always has his horses As Gaeilge the likes of Al Eile,Penthesilea Eile,i’d say it could be frustrating for Commentators from outside Ireland trying to pronounce them!

But sure hey that’s probably half the reason he does it

€20 win Divine Rhapsody, you’ll have to trust me on the price I get!

    – €35.50

Haven’t been on the net until now i also thought Divine Rhapsody was great value when i got 11/4,then before the race he drifted to 4’s and i knew my faith was sealed, though he did travel ok for a long way!

Chino Valdes a horse i’ve backed countless times before went off and won tonight at 9’s and i didn’t back it,just my luck of late! :x

If i remember correctly after a ride in England on board Presvis Fallon said he and the horse didn’t get on at all and he would be advising Cumani to get someone else to take over in future! :?

I’m a big fan of big bucks but the Hurricane is just something else altogether,i’ve seen him race in the flesh twice and he’s even more impressive than on a tv screen,an absolute machine,he’s not overly big but he’s so classy it’s unbelievable,i’m only 24 but he’s the best horse i’ve ever seen,i’d say he’d destroy big bucks over any distance he literally destroyed a lot of very highly regarded horses over the past year!Keeping him sound is the only thing that can stop him going down as an all time great!

Very keen on Elyaadi in the 3.45 at 12.

Keep an eye on the market i’d say it’ll be the best guide.Quite fancy her myself,I know the owners pretty well and if they fancy it there’ll be a bit of money going down, tried ring Micheal there and no luck getting through! Might back it anyway :?

Thanks for the tip, Fran. He wasn’t far behind the favourite in the betting; do you think if they’d fancied him, he’d probably have been clear favourite? I did have a saver on ShopDJ, as she was the moral winner of her penultimate (listed) race at Newbury in late March. She was giving weight, but she’s only a pip squeak.

What had impressed me about Elyaadi was that she was easily beaten into second by Junior in the Ascot Stakes, although she was giving him 4lbs; while he beat Aaim To Prosper, giving him 6 lbs. He was apparently never in the race, it seems, but he must surely be worth watching.

Didn’t get talking to them but had a few pound on at 12’s and then seen the price just before the off and thought lovely stuff :D Unfortunately it wasn’t to be!
I presume today was meant to be the day and things didn’t pan out as expected, few iffy jumps and also i’d say Timmy expected the boys up front to stop turning for home which didn’t really happen! Grandouet was my saving grace today and won in good style! Thank God i talked myself out of backing Beautiful sound!
