We’ll compare when the Fly has won 12 straight.
He’s nearly there
May 9, 2011 at 11:39 #354606I’m a big fan of big bucks but the Hurricane is just something else altogether,i’ve seen him race in the flesh twice and he’s even more impressive than on a tv screen,an absolute machine,he’s not overly big but he’s so classy it’s unbelievable,i’m only 24 but he’s the best horse i’ve ever seen,i’d say he’d destroy big bucks over any distance he literally destroyed a lot of very highly regarded horses over the past year!Keeping him sound is the only thing that can stop him going down as an all time great!

LMAO
May 9, 2011 at 11:48 #354609So you would bet on the Fly beating Big Buck’s over 3 miles ?
May 9, 2011 at 11:52 #354611A furious pace over 2 and a half mile on good to soft, Big Buck’s would prevail.

Yes any day of the week! He’s a money making machine!
May 9, 2011 at 12:02 #354613Hope that race happens then Fran The Man.
May 9, 2011 at 12:03 #354614This thread has attracted the forum’s nutters I see…
May 9, 2011 at 12:18 #354617It’s all well and good lambasting the staying division but this is far from a classic era of 2m hurdlers.
The places in the last two/three champion hurdles have been inundated with what is essentially an uninspiring blend of stayers and horses who wouldn’t have got within 20lbs of the likes of Hardy Eustace, Rooster Booster, Harchibald, Brave Inca etc… Also the latter bunch were considered fairly vanilla in the wake of Istabraq.
Whilst Hurricane Fly is quite comfortably the best 2 miler we’ve seen in a while, you’ll never see him treat his opponents with complete and utter disdain. Big Bucks is simply peerless in that he’s been doing that for years now.
One also has to take into account that whilst Big Bucks is super durable, you wouldn’t want to put your house/spouse on Hurricane Fly even making it to next year’s hypothetical Aintree Hurdle.
Given that there is evidence that the conditions of the Aintree Hurdle would suit Hurricane Fly, I can accept that that particular race will be closely priced. However, if the race was ran over 2m5f at Cheltenham, Big Bucks would be comfortable be an odds on shot.
Percentage call? Big Bucks.
Can we close this discussion now?

For crying out load BB, can you not just laugh in the face of anyone who has a different opinion to you?
You’re obviously in the Bib Bucks camp but this thread would have been dead and buried if every one thought the same as you – there are people out there who are in the Hurricane Fly camp, and have gave very valid reasons as to why.
A bit disrespectful just laugh at them don’t you think?

To be fair though, it is the internet
May 9, 2011 at 12:36 #354628I’m only laughing at the ridiculous, although that may have passed you by.
I’m a huge fan of Hurricane Fly, almost as much as BB, both are without peer at their distances, they are leagues apart.
But it’s worth highlighting nonsense, I feel. So I have. And it amuses me, so I have a chuckle. The opinion that Fly would beat BB over "any distance" is quite simply out of the lunatic asylum.
It would be embarrassing for the thread had no-one highlighted that, although several have, not just me.
May 9, 2011 at 12:39 #3546292 Miles/2m4f maybe if he goes to the 3mile race in France we see how good he is over that distance.
I say Willie will want to take on Big Bucks eventually….hopefully it will happen at Aintree 2m4f next year

But you also replied with a simple "PMSL" to one poster’s opinion that HF was superior to BB, as well as three other ‘laughs’ at other people’s opinions that HF would beat BB over any distance.
They are just people’s opinions, that’s all – everyone is entitled to them. So regardless of how outrageous you believe these opinions to be, is it not best to reply with your own reasons to why you think otherwise, rather than just laugh? That’s all I’m suggesting mate.
May 9, 2011 at 15:57 #354657I find this post rather shocking and an insult.
Putting
Big Bucks
and
Hurricane Fly
in between their respected distances, which they are both, without doubt, the undisputed champions… just to produce an ultimate showdown is very disrespectful.
Its like producing a boxing match between
Manny Pacquaio
and
Wladimir Klitschko
…. but telling them, they both have to be at Middleweight level for it to happen
This match up should be left alone and these Champions should not be even considered to come up against each other, unless one or the other purposely target the other ones respected division.
Hurricane Fly and Big Bucks are both superstars, and it does not matter what type of race they faced each other in, if there happened to be a winner, it would not prove whos better…. it would just be an insult to their achievements.
They are both National Hunt icons and belong apart to race against their respected opponents
May 9, 2011 at 18:02 #354677I the idea of Big Bucks himself in his red, white & black summer holiday jacket logging on & hoofing in ‘LMAO’ & ‘PMSL’ whilst on a break from grass munching tickled me a little.
Then he typed a longer post & shattered the illusion!
I like someone who is strong in their convictions & it’s not like we’re ever going to find out is it?
May 9, 2011 at 18:02 #354678Can we start a petition for the Fly to run in the Ascot Gold Cup? I think he would have as good a a chance as Fame and Glory has on all known form!
