have a closer look at the King stats on RP…

look at his horses for 2012-13 season, look at the horses who’ve won over 5 figures. Choc has won on L’Unique, the other 8 have all won the dough with WH on board.

What does that tell us? The strike rate and money/rides ratio points glaringly to WH being superior.

i always liked Choc but the past couple of years I avoid him like the plague.

i don’t think he means the value per point that fluctuates, it’s the number of points staked mate

help me here ginge, I’ve been trying to understand the odds tables, etc., and looking at the Dick Turpin race, I though he was at least a 75-80% chance of winning, which I make 1/3 – 1/4 odds, therefore, IMO, he’s value at 4/5? Is my science correct, even if my conclusions are wrong?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not backing a 4/5 shot, I don’t stake enough to make it worth it, but I have a couple of others today that I think are short prices but ‘value’ and will treble them up (Hamish McGonagall and Tataniano), I’d rather play all three and get 8s, than back them singles.

    Gord.

lovely winner with Rimth mate, though I must admit that I’ve never been all that taken with Verdant, fingers burnt last year, can still feel the blisters :)

i really fance Eton Forever for this one, still available at 16s. This is a group horse whose 3yo campaign was cut short by a slightly bizarre problem on his last run which should be discounted, he’s also been gelded too.

His maiden win over the subsequently impressive listed winner of Cumani’s, Afsare, now looks rather decent.

    Would’ve skooshed it, 10/1 consolation though :)

Justin Fashanu played for Airdrie for a season (same time as Owen Coyle and Sandy Stewart who are the current Bolton management team) and he was very gay.

Built like a heavyweight boxer, it was fun listening to opposition fans trying to extract the urine, one memorable occassion at Ibrox v. Rangers, the wolfwhistles were very noticeable till he took out both Richard Gough and Andy Goram in one fell swoop.

there are plenty of internet stories of Fash, some of his ‘home’ life were rather lurid.

Isn’t Clare Balding the most famous horseracing gay?

i used to order it from a local newsagent on my way to work. One day I missed out when the car was in the garage, and the poor (or probably not) shopkeeper told me that, unlike the plethora of daily rags, the RP is not a sale or return item, they are charged full whack for it.

Like anyone would give me a free bet Marginal? Of course, if I were in that position, my bet would be more sensible.

    a free £10k bet?

I’d treble up Medermit (arkle) 9/2, Court in Motion 6/1(bartletts) and Galant Nuit (Kim Muir) 10/1. I’d be £4,235,000 better off when it came up and set up for life. I might need to stake it in 5 equal lumps though to avoid the maximum pay outs when it wins.

i appreciate it’s a lot less sexy than some, but in the mid-late 80s when i first entered into the shops, my favourites were Ray Cochrane and Luca Cumani, the culmination for me was Kayashi’s 1988 Derby win.

You’ve become like Yosemite Sam in the bugs bunny cartoons Mr.W.

You come across as being desperate for attention and he’s overshadowing your. Any time he posts on here, anyone gets the impression you have veins popping in your neck, steam coming out your ears, eyes bloodshot with rage. It didn’t stop you challenging him to a duel (cringeworthy at best) on the notebooks page, and hounding him unjustly all over the main page.

Time to act your age. He has as much right to post any subject as you or I, learn to live with it.

Could the owners of Fenix Two and Marching Song possibly get any sort of compensation out of this?

Do you think they’d pay thousands of pounds to purchase the animals, then thousands of pounds in training fees, vets fees, etc., without taking out insurance? Do you think any racecourse could operate without appropriate public liability insurance? I really think your last post contributes absolutely nothing to the subject but add more unwanted noise and draws attention to yourself.

When the incident happened yesterday, it was immediately obvious that the problem happened in an isolated area, the area should be cordoned off and not used till completely safe again. Racing could easily have continued yesterday by bypassing the rather pointless parade ring charade in any case. I’ve been at sports events where people (spectators) have died or been taken away by ambulance, but where do you draw the line? I’m in no way trying to belittle the effects of yesterday’s

After the events in Australia where eejits like joncollymore managed to ban NH racing, we need to be on our guard to avoid such an unnecessary steps ever happening over here. Cancelling the racing drew the sport onto the front pages and onto the main news bulletins. Two horses, Glencove Marina and Money Trix, died after the big race in more damaging and cruel circumstances if anyone wished to look at the situation in those terms. People need to be careful what they wish for joncollymore and Mr. W.

Here is some background on Wikipdia on ‘step potential’ – the electrical phenomenon being mooted today as the effect which may have led to the shocks received by the horses.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_potential_rise

you’d be as well suggesting it was a voodoo attack, that was clearly an electric shock.
