Arazi winning the 1991 Breeders cup juvenile in unbelievable fashion, then following up with a crap 3yo year has to be one. He was a very overdeveloped 2yo and was probably high as a kite the night of the breeders cup (so I`m told), but certainly he barely trained on.
Hawk Wing slaughtering the Lockinge field by 11l and disappointing in the QEII.
Celtic Son`s brilliant chase debut last year made a fool out of a few of us thereafter (Tom Segal included)- didn`t live up to expectations at all- not yet anyway.
I`m particularly interested in Electrocutionist for the classic. Think he`d go very close. Does anyone know if they intend to run him??
A few months back a horse ran over fences in England; can`t remember the track or horse unfortunately, but it had previously run in Germany in a race which had a lake in the middle of it…. in-running was something to the effect of…
settled mid division, improved when swam lake 5f out, blah blah…..
I thought that was hilarious!! Anyone remember the horse?
Shocked to see this post, really sad news. Sincere condolences to all Craigs family and friends. :(
Well done! Keep it going.
EC, check your PM`s mate.
http://www.flatstats.co.uk might be of some help, but its a pay site and can be extremely complicated although thorough. A list of sires with stats would be very helpful in my opinion.
Its 2/1 on Betfair because the stable is unfashionable and because Cuppacocoa, Sans Reward, Spirit of Venus and Three Decades could all improve past it, while Ioweyou is a well-bred, unknown quantity. Personally I reckon Spirit Of Venus takes it.
Who`s the chick with the good record on another forum? Perhaps someone could PM me if they can`t post it up?
Stuart Williams Hogmaneigh, particularly on soft ground ;)
My God, he`s just done the opposite with his newcomer being backed from 9/1 into 7/2 in the 2.10, slowly away and always detacthed!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!
I know it happens every day but does anyone else think its a little strange that an apparently fit animal can just have a heart attack at a young enough age, the parallels between Rooster and Best Mate….. maybe its just my imagination.
A great horse and very sad news.
Brilliant performance.
He is truly excellent and highly consistent. But +15pts in a month to me isn`t earth shattering at all. Tell you what though, I`d employ him as a form reader as he is very, very good. Here`s the best example: check out this link which is Lazy getting the TRICAST up in this years gold cup- now THAT`S what I call sheer class rising to the top for the classiest of races!
I just seen the replies for this thread- good ideas there Steve. As for Lazy Excuse, all his selections are based on formstudy as far as I know. He doesn`t use "info" of any sort. I`ve wondered for a while about his l.s.p. though, I make far more backing my own selections than backing his blind. However, I`ve learnt a lot from him, his write ups are highly informative and taught me a lot about what factors to look for when selecting a bet. He is probably the best reader of form I know. There`s another guy on there, Hippo, who has gone private and his eye for a winner is fantastic. It appears he has a very broad knowledge of racing and a very strong idea of the bigger picture; he has often selected outsiders with no apparent chance on the book which duly do the business. I must say though, both of them are guilty of selecting some serious short-priced duds! That might sound like nit-pickery but on a number occasions I`ve wondered why one of them selects a 5/2fav being ridden by a dodgy jockey with a number of unexposed types in the race. I`ve tipped some SERIOUS duds myself, really laughable selections, but I`m a value merchant and I prefer big prices to medium stakes over weighing in at short prices. Thats a general rule too, never backing a short priced horse is obviously limiting. I would say to anyone though, check out Lazy`s tips and you`ll learn some stuff from him.
I know what you mean, and Lazy is bloody brilliant. I don`t know if you know who I`m on about but he`s very good too, and I think the reason people pay is that you`re guaranteed the service each day, however Lazy doesn`t post every day. He is one of the best form readers I`ve seen though, I`ve the utmost respect for him and he has often saved my bacon in the past. He`s one of the best 3 tipsters I know.

UNDERRATED:<br>1. Jockey<br>2. "Good old-fashioned form"<br>2. Speed figures/Ratings<br>3. Time of year<br>4. Value- by this I mean backing horses you genuinely feel will place/win which are priced higher (in some cases much higher) than they should be.
OVER-RATED-<br>1. Stable (not stable form)<br>2. Hype/talking horses
