Triptych, that sounds like an absolutely amazing day. Ding, ding round two for you.

    Enjoy fella.

Anyone have a strong opinion on the 1000? I haven’t but Channon’s might be worth an ew tickle.

Cheers Solar Eclipse et Peruvian Chief, I managed to get thoroughly toasted on many different types of booze!

I didn’t expect it to be that easy. As the race unfolded, I kept waiting for DA to hit his flat spot but it didn’t occur.

Steve Caution, for fecks sake, stop trying to crab the form. He won by 5 lengths.

Elgransenor1, you’re decidedly quiet. In the words of Alan Partridge, get some letters arrange them on a plate and eat them….what I’m trying to say is eat your words.

Not too sure about DA getting the Derby trip but I said the same about Sea The Stars.

Judgement day on my ante post acca.

    Hurricane Fly @11/2
    Bobs Worth @6s
    Quevega @Evs
    Sprinter Sacre @5/4
    Dawn Approach @7s

    £5 pays just over £8k

Managed to lay £2k on DA @6/4 in the week.

Will get £5k if he wins. C’mon Jim, make my day!

Elgransenor, I’m sorry but your argument doesn’t hold that much water.

Dawn Approach is already rated 121. He’s beaten Cristoforo Colombo, who is 6 weeks older than DA, and George Vancouver.

Jim Bolger rates him up there with New Approach, so how can you be confident that DA and Toronado will get turned over?

    Cheers Triptych and Steve Caution.

Would love to make it onto the course for the big day but unfortunately away that weekend in Cowes. I will definitely shout the pub down if DA does bolt up. That said, after watching Toronado’s performance I’m bricking it a bit.

Can’t help be impressed, but I thought the same about Delegator. With the pace it showed you’d be a bit worried about it getting the Derby trip and I guess the form needs to be treated with a bit of caution because he was allowed an uncontested lead. However, he is a serious contender, undefeated and shown his well-being and I’m wondering if Paddy Power would buy back my bet for a few shekels. Do bookies ever do this?

Keeping my fingers crossed for Dawn Approach.

Placed a £5 acca in September:

    Hurricane Fly @11/2
    Sprinter Sacre @5/4
    Bob’s Worth @6s
    Quevega @Evs
    Dawn Approach @7s
Danedream @9/2 (void thanks PP for that)

    Pays just over £8K

Will lay it for £2K once I can get it matched on Betfair.

A drop in the ocean compared to one punter who I think has already won a few hundred grand and is due to win even more if DA obliges.

Not a bad return all the same. Just praying he makes it there on the day.

Also, on the RP media site, various RP scribes are putting forward their bankers, blowouts and ew’s.

Haven’t seen any thus far nominating SS, Simonsig, Quevega et al.

Err, Rich, Our Conor is disputing favouritism for the Triumph is he not?

Far enough if you may think that about Module, but this horse is 3rd favourite and at the centre of many of my accas, so I must fancy it pretty strongly to put my money where my mouth is.

I suppose I should mark it maybe as my ‘value bet’ because it was a double figure price but I think it’s a pretty good thing.

Cheers for the head’s up on Cheltenian, RedRiot.

Managed to get a few quid on @100s. Big ask but if he has a successful comeback run and shows himself in rude health then you never know.

Big if though, although at 100s it’s worth a speculative punt.

    Cheers Wilson.

    That’s a solid pick.

Not in any of my singles and accas unfortunately.

    Hi all,

My first post on the forum, so here goes!

I really can’t have Darlan on my mind in this. Ok, he won well at Kempton but no one wanted to make the running and it turned out to be a sprint.

The form of last year’s Supreme is questionable to say the least.

Cinders and Ashes may not have had it’s ground but has been comprehensively been beat on his two subsequent starts. Trifolium’s been beaten on his three subsequent starts, the last two being absolute spankings. Zarkandar gave 5th place Prospect Wells 17lbs and a beating. I don’t think the race has thrown up many winners and would have the would have the Fly, Grandouet, Zarkandar and Rock on Ruby ahead of him.

That said he has got plenty of scope for improvement but wouldn’t back him with counterfeit on the strength of his Kempton run,

Cue egg on my face, come March 12th.
