Speakin of usin the whip, or not using it rather, did anyone see the 2.40 at Chepstow today, Gosdens horses came in 1st and 2nd, venerable 1st as 2/1 fave, and shavansky 2nd at 20/1, shavansky was cruisin in 2nd for the final furlong yet the jockey didnt use the whip once and seemed to have no intention of wanting to win, is this a case of he knew what was wanted of him?

Quote: from Salselon on 5:11 pm on April 26, 2007[br]Nope, no-one has done anything wrong. And, no I certainly haven’t lost any cash. Decided not to back anything this week as all my interest now lies slowly with the flat.

The point I made is looking through the whole thread, and recent threads here, is that the quality of the responses has dipped quite considerably. No one person should take offence – it’s something i’ve noticed over the past couple of weeks..

I dont know as much as u lot, so I read more than I post!

Quote: from Flash on 4:55 pm on April 26, 2007[br]I’m having one of those weeks. Aces Four falls at the last when infront now Mighty Man breaks down when he would surely have hacked up otherwise. What makes it worse is I don’t normally back anything under 2/1 but these two looked liked they couldn’t possibly get beaten baring acts of god. Guess what, yep, the gods conspire against me.

On a far more serious note though lets hope Mighty Man is Ok that looked really nasty I’d rather see a horse fall than just break down like that. Fingers crossed he lives to fight another day.

Tell me bout it, I had Aces Four in a 50 quid double with Clopf, I was also tellin ppl 2 do an each way treble on Punjabi, Spot The Difference and Another promise, which I didn’t do myself cos of puttin 500 on Mighty Man
I feel for you mate. I toyed with Another Promise myself and I’ve done some serious dough this week. Get beaten fair enough but its hard to swallow when freak things lose youyour money. Still thats racing and how ever much it p**s
es you off (and boy it does) I’d rather Mighty Man be Ok than someone give me my money back.

    Yeah good point.

    Invasor or Discreet Cat?

I wanna side with Invasor after backing him in the breeders cup, what are your thoughts on how Discreet Cat will have improved since last year? And why have the bookies installed Invasor as favourite now, even b4 the draw was announced, as Discreet Cat was favourite a few weeks ago?

Red rocks in the Sheema Classic anyone? Sir Percy an the Japanese horse Pop Rock to contend with, should be interesting..

I can’t wait for this, Im goin 4 the 1st time, Iv got Eurotrek e/w as my main bet, I don’t know as much as u lot but I have read a lot on here for the past few months an listen to what u are all sayin, not just on this race but in general, u have mentioned Eurotrek is in with a shout so that is good, but I backed it purely after it winnin the Becher chase last year.

Iv also got Clan Royal e/w cos I always back it an after it being run out of the race by the stray horse last time Iv gotta have a sentimental bet on it, even if it’s chances are getting slimmer each year..

Iv also got L’Ami e/w but I’m not sure if he will run? Simon is interesting too, I made a BIG mistake for the Welsh National last year, I knew Halcon G was aimed at that race an planned a big bet, then I heard ppl tippin Simon an the racin post had it as their nap so I changed my mind last minute, we all know who won

Hedgehunter loves the G N an is always gonna go close, so I might stick a safety bet on him come the day..

Altho he is 1 horse Iv never taken to, like Kauto Star, so I always try an oppose em!

Hopefully 1 of my above selection will come in somewhere!
