Indeed he was, and quite comfortably.
Looks like LGR might have to eat his words, if this horse can sort out his one bad jump per race, he certainly has the potential to at least feature in what looks possibly the best Gold Cup for many years.
April 24, 2007 at 16:14 #54419Aces Four would’ve won no question. Jumps really well generally just throws in the odd bad one.
April 24, 2007 at 16:16 #54421He’d have won today, there’s no doubting that, but I still don’t see him as a Gold Cup horse.
But, only time will tell.
April 24, 2007 at 19:07 #54422Was at Punchestown today.Very worrying to see those blue screens up around Aces Four.He was walked back past the stand after he recovered. I was at the rail and someone asked Ferdy Murphy if he was ok. He said the horse was fine just very shook after the fall. AF did look a pitiful site, head bowed and really feeling sorry for himself.Know how he feels I’d backed him myself.
Great that he lives to fight another day.
Makes three of us then I backed him too.

April 25, 2007 at 07:42 #54426Racing Demon must have a good chance in the Gold Cup today. Right handed track and all that. 3rd in the King George behind Kauto Star and Exotic Dancer is pretty good 3m form as well.
April 25, 2007 at 08:54 #54427I had a £50 win double on Clopf an Aces Four, gutted! :(
April 25, 2007 at 08:55 #54428Any tips 4 today then fellas?

Chris
Keep your money in your pocket until you see what the weather does.:)
If there’s enough rain, back Beef or Salmon to pick up another soft gd1 against an over-rated In Compliance and a disappointing Racing Demon.
April 25, 2007 at 09:07 #54431I agree that Racing Demon must have a chance. Desperately wants to go right-handed. He was also a good third in the King George, and we all know that that form has been greatly reinforced WRT the winner and the second. On this form he should skoosh in.

April 25, 2007 at 09:31 #54432Thanks guys, I hate being in work on festival days, I can never catch all the races I wanna see in my lunch hour! I try to watch em on Ladbrokes website but it’s just a blank screen lately
April 25, 2007 at 09:38 #54434Hello,
I maybe grasping at straws, but I can see KINGSCLIFF putting up a show today.
His latest performances ain’t been that bad, and certainly an improvement on a couple of past runs.
Bear in mind he is only TEN, so he can achieve his good performances of two years ago.
26/1 on Betfair is reasonable, and I will be looking for a place somewhere. ;)
regards,
doyley
April 25, 2007 at 10:12 #54435Signing in from an interbet cafe near Punchestown. An absolute stinker of a day yesterday. Relying on Racing Demon today providing they haven’t watered too much.
April 25, 2007 at 11:10 #54436My main hope today is Neptune Collonges, but I’ll also be backing Moore’s Law and Sophocles.
The latter I expect to run particularly well, though sadly not at the price he ran so well at at Cheltenham.
April 25, 2007 at 11:58 #54438Well the two i fancied to run well are blazing sky and meades bumper filly…the one out of the nell gwynn winer. Both have not had the ideal prep according to their trianers so it might be best to leave them. I cant see past In compliance for the big race.
