Knockara Beau must have a very sound chance, the word I had before the race was that Weird Al could not be beat on his chase debut (I was lucky enough to get on at 20-1) but Knockara Beau almost gave him 8lbs.
I’m still not 100% convinced Weird Al is an RSA horse but he’s got two course wins under his belt, he can come from behind or he can force the pace and there doesn’t appear to be any flaws in his makeup.
I’ve shortlisted Weird Al and Knockara Beau plus Punchestowns, Mikael DHaguenet and Diamond Harry all horses deserving serious consideration but they’ve all got to prove themselves over fences and it may be too late, Kangaroo Court must be a very live condenter, while Pandorama by far the best Chase form so far.Champ hurdle, unless Dunguib or Voler La Vadette run my cash will stay in my pocket

I’ve found Irish Bumpers very profitable if one is selective in the placing of bets and massively informative for future novice hurdlers & chasers.
Ditto Irish point to point, although not a betting medium, it provides an invaluable guide to future winners "under rules"In the past results have been fairly unpredictable after a long weather hold up, obviously depending on how active the respective trainers can keep their horses but Voler La Vadette stands out with(maybe even without) the allowances
I can think of few better examples of a horse and jockey racing "as one" than Sam Thomas and Denman. Ruby may well be the best I’ve seen but Denman seems to go better for Sam. Denman is currently one of my three bankers for The Festival but I’m not even sure I’ll back him if McCoy gets the mount as I don’t think his style would suit The Tank. Not that they’d get the mount but I’d think the quieter more symathetic style of the likes of Timmy Murphy or Nina Carberry would suit the horse better
Great idea but the fields may be smaller than folk think as there’s likely to be plenty problems getting horses to and from the meeting.
I’d like to see Nina Carberry come over, there’s nobody to touch her in a bumper

How about these horsesThis is how the look to me
Sizing Mexico : Won with something in hand, high on my short list
Don’t turn bach : Wouldn’t back Patrick Mullins at Cheltenham, maybe if Ruby is on board but it’s not one for me
Forty Foot Tom : Currently top of my short list. The most impressive bumper winner this year, unfancied, unfashionable trainer, currently 20-1 for the Festival looks good value but I’m not an Ante Post backer
Cottage star : Looked as if he needed every inch of the two miles, they might go too fast for him but Nina is sure to get the best out of him if this is the one she’s on, it’s quite likely Noel Meade has an unraced contender up his sleeve.
Thanks for the info, I’d agree An Siorrac is in the best possible hands, Enda has never rushed his horses, he always said Spot The Difference was better at 12 than at 8 and that was down to having been given plenty of time as a younger horse.
Two more (Irish) contenders for the bumper
Forty Foot Tom was very impresive in his bumber debut, unfashionable trainer, unbacked at 25-1, easiest Irish bumber wiunner of the season now 20-1 for The Festival, reminded me of Quadco and remember how he won the Aintree bumber
Sizing Mexico was perhaps less impressive in his only run but won with plenty in handThat’s the saddest piece of news I’ve heard for a while, he looked a real star of the future and wouldn’t it have been great for racing if he had gone all the way, Edna would never have let Nina Carberry get jocked off and the combination would have really caught the public’s imagination and lit up the NH scene.
Fingers crossed but they rarely come back as good as they were….Denman excepted maybe?
Perhaps Nina will win The Grands National on Garde Champtere? Wouldn’t need Claire Balding to prompt her to smile!!!Thanks gingertipster, got it!
Not so much a reply rather a question. How do I start a new topic, I can’t find the link?
I’m new to this forum but have a background in racing going back too long (First Cheltenham bet Mill House in 1963)
