Qazyna had a comfortable win at Newmarket today :good: Juyush also had a very nice win in France.

Frankie Dettori has snapped up Veracious for the 1000gns after impressing in racecourse gallop with stablemate Homeopathic with Ryan Moore on board. :good:

Nice win for Nelson, as you say Joni could see him as a Leger type, be interesting where he goes next.

Mine was the 1973 Grand National.

Hearbreaking finish for Crisp just getting caught on the line by Red Rum after leading for most of the race. They had a re-match at level weights later that season and Crisp won by 8l.

He was retired after the race and spent 8 years hunting. He died out hunting, and was buried at the entrance of his then-owner’s estate. A cherry tree was planted over the grave, which flowers at Grand National time.

    Great film Jac :good:

Count Octave won on his seasonal debut :good: A. Balding said he wintered well and he would be starting in lower grade races with a view to moving up in grade for the longer distance cup races.

Your absolutely right Joni, sometimes our emotions cloud our judgement, i got carried away when Without Parole won by 6L but as Steve said about Rabdan, what did he beat.

I’m still hopeful that this year will be a good one.

He was very impressive :good: he may be like Cracksman who enjoys soft ground. On a side note, Elarqam was due to have a racecourse gallop at Pontefract tomorrow in preparation for the Guineas but the weather has put a stop to that, it would have been good to see if he’s trained on, fingers crossed he has.

Interesting read Joni, thanks for that. I agree that Frankel will continue to produce quality colts and fillies for many years to come and hopefully produce a few classic winners too.

Elarqam is going straight to the 2000gns, he’s having a couple of racecourse gallops beforehand. Mark Johnston said he’s wintered well and he did the same with his dam Attraction before she won the 1000gns, who looks just like Elarqam. There is a video of her winning on Racing Post. Everything will be crossed for that. :good:

Thanks for the info Joni, looks like you had a nice day Jac and it’s nice to see that horses are being retrained. Like a lot of us can’t wait. It’s not long now before things get going in earnest.

I was very pleased that Solo Saxophone got round safely but i do think they are rushing him, should have kept him in lower grade company this season till he got used to jumping.
