I think you have the wrong horse Stevie. Rabdan didn’t run in Study Of Man’s maiden. Agree 16’s is a crazy price though..

April 4, 2018 at 22:38 #1349113Knee jerk reaction based purely on his trainer deciding to supplementing him – I wouldn’t take 16s on him even making the line-up, it would appear silly season has started early with the bookies.
Looking at the size of him I am not very sure he would even be suited to the undulations at Epsom or that he would have the tactical speed required for the race – could do more harm than good to him long term by running.
April 4, 2018 at 22:58 #1349114You are correct Joni, it is the collateral form through Study Of Man. Still leaves Rabdan with a ton to find with Pascal Bary’s Deep Impact colt though and 16/1 for a maiden winner rated 88 after two starts is nonsense.
Andre Fabre used to be “Napoleon”, the King of coming to the UK and mopping up Group 1’s. That is no longer the case though. Since the Coolmore juggernaut got going, Andre Fabre’s success rate in the British Isles has waned. The French Maestro was hopeful of walking away from the Meydan meeting with a few successes but it was all rather tame. Talismanic was as much use as a chocolate poker and Cloth Of Stars pulled like a horse who had never seen a racecourse before behind Hawkbill.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 5, 2018 at 19:56 #1349175Andre Fabre has warned about taking Rabdan’s performance at face value:-
Rabdan made a big impression when opening his account at the second attempt at Saint-Cloud and was put in the Investec Derby at Epsom at the second entry stage.
However, Fabre warns it would be dangerous to get carried away with the son of Frankel’s visually striking performance.
He said: ” It is hard to take the form seriously in those conditions, I think. I would be delighted if it was true, but we will see.
“He could run in the Prix Greffulhe (Saint-Cloud, May 8). That will tell us more.”
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 6, 2018 at 01:40 #1349187Extra Mile got off the mark at the fourth attempt today, might be a good handicapper.

Agree LD73. Even if he wins his French trial impressively, I still wouldn’t fancy him round Epsom
April 6, 2018 at 14:18 #1349218Finche due to run on Sunday at Longchamp in G2 Prix D’Harcourt – will be interesting to see just how well he has done from 3 to 4 as he always looked like he needed time to fill into his frame.
April 6, 2018 at 21:36 #1349251LA FIGLIA (Frankel/Finsceal Beo (Mr. Greeley)) running tomorrow at Kempton AW in a Class 1 Listed event over 1 mile, looking for some black type.
Ridden by James Doyle I’m hoping she will have wintered well and bolt up.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 7, 2018 at 17:27 #1349384Very disappointing run by La Figlia, she seemed very one paced and the french filly had flown, C’est Magnifique.
No excuses just not good enough but I wouldn’t have fancied anything else in that and Stoute filly was also very overrated.
The one to take out of the race for me was Shenanigans running on to take 2nd in the final stages.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 7, 2018 at 20:39 #1349392I had a bet on La Figlia Jac, but I didn’t think it was too bad a race. She didn’t start too
well and had to sit tight behind horses, and as you said the French filly had already flown by
the time she saw daylight. But she did make up ground and passed the rest, but unfortunately was
never going to get there. I think she might still be useful, I’ll be interested to see how she does
next time out.April 7, 2018 at 22:19 #1349397Still only her 3rd ever run so she was giving away a lot of experience to her rivals – likely that she will come on for the run and I would like to see her back on turf, think she could still be ok at Listed/G3 level if placed correctly.
April 7, 2018 at 23:38 #1349398Having watched the race again I think she did get a fair start with Lucy Mai Graham but it seemed that James Doyle wanted to cover her up and then she got a bit boxed in. The winner was behind her on the rails most of the way and 2 furlongs from home she was doing her best work but Hainana came with that explosive sprint finish that a lot of the French horses are trained to have and her race was over, but yes it was a credible run.
Like LD would like to see her again back on turf. She has twice run and lost at Kempton now but at Newmarket she ran very close in 4th place to Muffri’ha (1 and a quarter lengths) on the Rowley Mile last Autumn.
She holds an entry for the Lockinge on 19th May but personally would love to see her run over 7f in the Nell Gywn at the Craven Meeting back on the Rowley Mile. I think she would cope well with the uphill finish and outstay her rivals (as long as they’re not French

back her, I also backed Jamira Bridge in the 2.05. If you watch that race you might
then have a clue what I was on about. I somehow got the two races switched around in
my head. Jamira Bridge missed the break and had to wait till he saw daylight late on,
and by that time the winner, A Momentofmadness, had got the march on him. He finished
like a train for 2nd.When you read my summing up, you must of thought I had my Momentofmadness. I think
I need a holiday
April 8, 2018 at 10:59 #1349412LOL Graham, you and I both
although I did think I might have been watching the wrong horse, I had to go back to Sporting Life website and watch it again.
Glad I did really because it made me take a closer look at her run and you can see that James Doyle didn’t give her an unduly hard time after it became obvious she was never going to catch the winner, so next time out on the turf will hope for a better result.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 8, 2018 at 11:14 #1349418She’s a 4 year old Jack so wouldn’t be in the Nell Gwynn. To me she looked like she might be better over a bit further. She was staying on at the one pace and was beaten by a quicker horse. As Graham said she is still very inexperienced so hopefully there is more to come.
Some good racing in France today and looking forward to seeing Finche in the Group 2. He is lightly raced and I think we will see the best of him this year. Also it is the return of Study Of Man who Steve mentioned recently.

April 8, 2018 at 14:48 #1349438I somehow thought she was only 3 Joni she has been so lightly raced, thanks for pointing that out, silly me.
Look forward to her next run..Jac (without the k
