Yes, you’ll have to do that, Joni, reckon Jac has already pm’d me and will start the bidding off at auction at a whopping tenner and a packet of starmix….

February 13, 2018 at 20:46 #1342091The Cracksman Sheema Classic bid “unlikely” now according to Anthony Oppenheimer. Can’t help but feel that would be the wise decision in the long run, much as I’d like to see him again as soon as possible…

February 13, 2018 at 21:02 #1342092agree, save the horse for the proper summer turf races
February 13, 2018 at 22:36 #1342106Nothing personal but I hope Cracksman swerves the Sheema Classic.
I have backed Cloth Of Stars there and Benbatl in the Turf. They were both 5/1 and I like these symmetry doubles, don’t know why mind you.
You can still get 4/1 on the Arc runner up.
I would think it’s good sense to keep Cracksman for later. I am sure he will go on to good successes this season, just to rub it in about my Derby bet on him if nothing else. Looking back at it now it’s a bit of a puzzler that he didn’t win two, never mind one, Derbies/Derby. What odds would he be if those races were tomorrow?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 13, 2018 at 23:08 #1342109Mr ‘O’ must have been reading this Thread and like all of you I’m really glad to hear that Cracksman will hopefully now start his campaign later in the season and not at the Sheema Classic.
I want to go to France this year and see him win the Arc but I’m not going to give that another thought as it’s much too early and the whole flat season lies ahead with all the new 2yo’s waiting in the wings to make their debut and the exciting Elarqam waiting to take on Roaring Lion and all comers in the 2000 Guineas. Would predict that this flat season is going to be Frankel’s best as far as winning Classics are concerned.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 14, 2018 at 07:56 #1342134He just wasn’t physically ready Stevie. At least it shows your initial judgement was bang on (if that’s any consolation!!!). Back him blind this year and you’ll soon recoup those losses.
I think you are on to a winner with that double. The middle-distance division is weak if you take out Enable and Cracksman so it would be there for the taking with Cloth Of Stars. Benbatl has looked a beast this winter and will surely go off a shoer-priced favourite. 5-1 is amazing!
Jac – i’ll join you in Paris if Cracksman gets there!!!

February 14, 2018 at 08:29 #1342137Cracksman v enable let’s hope they both get there sound, what a race that would be
February 14, 2018 at 18:34 #1342219That’s a date Joni
Perhaps it could be the TRF Frankel Appreciation Club get together with as many of us getting there to meet up and cheer him home as possible….Ive never been and determined to do it this year if Cracksman makes it…see you there but reckon we’ll be meeting up before that at the Craven or Guineas meeting.

You can watch it here. https://twitter.com/frankel1313?lang=enAll comers, all ground, all beaten
February 17, 2018 at 00:36 #1342578Thanks for that Chaos
Actually the first win of his career and must say they are racing him rather to often for my liking this is his fourth run this year and he had two runs in December. Never fulfilled his potential in England I don’t know why I’m feeling a bit sad for him even though he’s won he has a trainer who seems particularly hard on his horses. he had five runners in that race alone and one pulled up after 11 furlongs. JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 17, 2018 at 01:57 #1342594No worries Jac and i have to agree with your comment, it was the same with Solo Saxophone, couldn’t understand why the trainer ran him in ground that was like a bog, upped in class as well on only his third run over hurdles, felt sad for him too.
It would be great to join you all at the Arc, like you have never been and now that it’s back in Longchamp even better. If the going is like it was at Ascot and he stays sound he has every chance.
All comers, all ground, all beaten
February 17, 2018 at 10:41 #1342638See you there Chaos
We’ll definitely need Joni with us otherwise it will be the blind leading the blind but always wanted to see the Arc at Longchamp so what a bonus if Cracksman turns up and even the possibility that Enable might win her second Arc, it will one to remember.I think we are very protective of our Frankel babes, they are like family but some folk have more money than sense sometimes and like you said about Solo it was probably under the owners instruction that he ran. He showed so much potential you have to harvest it and be patient. Trouble is if he were mine I’d have paid the money just to look at him every day..LOL he would never have seen a hurdle..

February 20, 2018 at 21:26 #1343250For those of you that were wondering what had happened to the impressive once raced French Frankel colt Straight Shooter sadly we will not see him on the track again https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloodstock-world/frankels-first-stallion-sons-settle-into-exotic-climes/320135
February 20, 2018 at 22:13 #1343256Thanks for sharing LD. Disappointing news. He looked very promising when winning his maiden. Hopefully he will have better luck as a stallion…..
