Well that was seriously impressive from UAE King. Fascinating to watch these Frankel’s improve with age and with distance. Should be seeing this one in the Cups next year.

That probably wasn’t the hardest race in the world to win given UAE King was getting plenty of weight from some pretty ordinary types but he did it well and surely connections must be eying the Cesarewitch; I’d be all over him for it and the extra 2 furlongs would be well within his scope.

After so far disappointing as a 3 year old (after her impressive group-winning 2 year old career), Toulifaut has reportedly now been moved to Criquette Head-Maarek’s yard (from J-C Rouget)

Where are the Frankel 2yo’s? We’ve barely seen any in the UK.

I said this before Royal Ascot. It’s possible that a lot of them are now too tempermental to ever set foot on the racecourse.

I hope that isn’t the case. We saw yesterday that they have trained on pretty well with Frankuss. Be interesting to see what Cracksman does in the great voltigeur.

Don’t panic. We are seeing them improve with age so I think trainers are just biding their time. I hear very good things about the latest son of Midday, a 2 year old with Sir Michael.

Is that the two year old Stoutey rates higher than Expert Eye, Joni?

Cheers Jac and Jon, Frankuus did it :good: .

What a great run from Frankuus Hein I watched him on the screen at Newmarket and was cheering him home. :yahoo:

Saturday was the German-Thoroughbred.Com Sweet Solera Stakes and on the front cover of card was a map of all the courses in Germany where Pattern Races are run and a beautiful picture of Windstoss (winner of the German Derby inside) along with Sires such as Monsun a great days racing and much more exciting than what was going on at Ascot this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing EMINENT running again in the big race in France agains Last Kingdom and of course I will be backing Eminent all the way. Brametot is going to relish the very soft ground and Frankel’s boys will be up against it but I always think a good horse can win at least once on ground that he doesn’t favour and Eminent is a good horse and hoping that, now he has had time to recuperate, he will do just that…. :good: Neck on the line again but I’m keeping the faith ;-) Jac

Yes Jac, he won impressively from the front.
I appreciate your interest in our racing and I can recommend Windstoss, for me he is our best Derby winner from the last couple of years. I even had the honour to see his debut at Dortmund..
I wish you all the best with your four legged love :good: ,
maybe this race will be quite tough for him, but I wish for you he can land the blow!

Frankel has not had many two-year-olds running before August. Is this strange? It is possible that they are too freaky, too weak, cannot stand up to early training, the owners want to wrap them in cotton wool in case they lose, etc. Or it could be just normal. Maybe the trainers and owners think they will be better racehorses if they are given time to develop.

Just out of interest, I looked at Galileo’s top forty horses based on RPR, and looked at the date of their first race. The score was fifteen before August, and twenty-five in August or after. But the really interesting thing about those who ran before August was that thirteen of the fifteen were trained by Aiden O’Brien. At least for those forty top Galileos, if they were not trained by Aiden O’Brien there would be a big chance that they would have their debut in August or after. There are two potential reasons that I can see: Aiden is a superb trainer who knows the Galileos better than any other trainer, or Aiden is training for a huge breeding operation where testing the potential for speed at an early stage is a worthwhile gamble. I suspect there there are many other reasons too. Aiden O’Brien has run two Frankels before August this year; maybe his style is not the style of other trainers. It is also interesting to look through the list of top older horse of the last few years, and most of the best at ten furlongs and above had their debut in August or later.

That’s an interesting fact MV they seem to be little chips off the old block as Frankel didn’t have his first run until mid-August…the rest is history  Jac

Cracking post MV. Fingers crossed for Eminent, Jac – on a line through Waldgeist he doesn’t have a huge amount to find. Not sure about that Eagle Eye rumour Ginge; just read that they thought highly of him. Merovee won in Australia today meaning Frankel has now had winners in 8 different countries. Might not be RULING the world but he is certainly covering it!!

Well there you go. Stick a proper jockey on board and let them stride out. Simple . Delighted that the horse has finally repaid his trainers faith. Jac – I hope you are squealing!!! 😅😅😅
