No worries judge, it was quite a while back and she’s progressed so much this season I really hope Richard Hannon has another live contender for next years Classics.
I believe that she would have had an unbeaten record had she not encountered such bad interference in the Empress Fillies Stakes won by Dance Diva at Newmarket.
Looking forward to seeing where she turns out next but can’t see her going off at double figures again..

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 17, 2017 at 17:04 #1314159Just saw one of the most impressive winners of the season in Il Primo Sole at Yarmouth. His name means the first sun in english and he certainly brightened up the day.
Fast away, shows tons of early pace and then just cruised away from them like they were a bunch of selling platers. He is quite speedily bred so doubt he’ll get beyond a mile and whether it was a quick horse just having far too much speed for some middle distance types we’ll have to see, but that was as impressive as Expert Eye was at goodwood.
August 17, 2017 at 17:07 #1314160Also in terms of preciousness and impression he reminded me of Ravens Pass when he won the solario at Sandown- just absolutely destroyed them.

Noticed he has an entry in the Royal Lodge at Newmarket 30th September so look forward to seeing him in the flesh that day. Good spot judge, definitely one to keep an eye on, hope he comes good for you next time out..

It was a striking win indeed. He reminded me of Kingman winning his first race. Looking forward to seeing this one run again
August 18, 2017 at 08:03 #1314208Sad news that Santry, who would have been one of the favourites for the Gimcrak, broke his leg on the gallops.
He was the stable star and you just can’t replace such horses.
August 18, 2017 at 14:14 #1314231Another couple of promising two year olds. Eqtidaar was a lovely looking two year old who showed plenty of pace on his debut at Nottingham. The second Mountain guard is one to look at as well as he’s bred for further. Wish I’d put more on.
Then at Newbury Purser impressed with his turn of foot at the death, beating my bet Merlin Magic, who looked sure to win
August 18, 2017 at 19:58 #1314255What could quite possibly turn out to be the best maiden run all season is at 1.40 at the Curragh on Sunday over 7 furlongs.
16 debutants containing a cousin to Harzand, a full brother to Hit It A Bomb & Brave Anna, a Frankel half brother to Bago & Maxios, a 1.3million gns daughter of a Lockinge winner (also by Frankel) and a half brother to Lethal Force.
I recon this could be a race to dissect.

Looking at that race I would probably go for Zabriskie, as both Bago and Maxios won on their debuts but this one is by a sire more suited to getting forward two year olds, so in theory it should have a great chance. But of course with O’Brien two year olds you never know how forward they are on their debuts. Should be informative as you say.
August 19, 2017 at 15:13 #1314440Ryan Moore knows more than me but I’m suprised he’s chosen Happily over September in the debutante stakes tomorrow.
Happily has done well so far and is very well bred but for me September has been one of the star two year olds of the season. Odds against is going to be very nice.

Zabriskie (like Lethal Power) was bitterly disappointing.
The winner was backed as if defeat was out of the question it seemed. Sounds like the whole course was on.
The one I’ll take out of the race is Hunting Horn, I think this one will turn out to be quite nifty when racing over the classic distances next year.
August 20, 2017 at 14:59 #1314595I actually ended up backing Threeandfourpence and thought that one looked good beforehand and ran well.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it ended up joining it’s full siblings in winning a group one as a two year old. Middle park anyone?
August 24, 2017 at 17:27 #1315318I put Jessica Harrington’s Landshark into my notebook.
A son of Bated Breath, he made a good start when travelling well on debut before getting a bit trapped in behind. He took a bit of time to come through when pulled out but was picking up and going away to win nicely by half a length.
Entered in the Group 3 Round Tower at the Curragh on Sunday, the colt may offer some value against whatever O’Brien troops turn up.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 25, 2017 at 01:27 #1315447Look out for VITAMIN (Camelot-True Verdict(Danehill Dancer) in the 2.05 at Newmarket tomorrow.
Trained by Richard Hannon she was slowly into her stride last time out and ran bravely against the winner Peace Trail in the closing stages, taking 3rd place, beaten just half a length and a nose
I went to see her in the pre-parade before that race and she looked like a 3yo beautifully turned out.
She is very highly thought of at the yard and could be a Classic contender in the making.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 25, 2017 at 01:36 #1315450Should we be lumping on then? Payday tomorrow……always dangerous :D
August 25, 2017 at 10:14 #1315486I wouldn’t advise lumping on BB just a small investment but she is an interesting filly and I’m hoping for a good run today.
Godolphin filly is favourite and they always do very well at Newmarket but Vitamin has the experience of that run against Peace Trail so they know what they are up against. On my way to Newmarket now so will report back later tonight..think I’m also going to do a reverse forecast with the Godolphin filly Soliloquy when I get there…good luck Jac

I noticed on one of the early tissues they priced US navy flag up at 6-4.
I don’t care what’s in that race against it, it won’t go off 6-4. Punters just simply won’t be interested in a hugely exposed O’brien horse at those sort of prices. Typical lazy tissue making, which seems to be the case on a lot of these websites. I had a look at Landsharks debut and it didn’t exactly blow me away, but it did show a good turn of foot. Wouldn’t be surprised if that went off fav.
verandah looks interesting tomorrow in the prestige stakes. On her debut she just went “whoosh” against what was admittedly a poor field. On her breeding she could be a group one filly and she certainly looked it that day.
Peace trail showed a good attitude on her debut but might be up against it if this Verandah is a monster she looked at Kempton.
