Gutted i not back US NAVY FLAG today after i mention him after last win on this thread
Any views on Clemmie
And other 2yos races to tomorrow to i hope HAPPILY can win though not happy face the colts rather stay at same sex races at 2yo
September 30, 2017 at 23:40 #1319556Darren Clemmie was magnificent today, head and shoulders above her rivals, I did oppose her backing Betty F who jinked at the start and found trouble in running, there’ll be another day for her.
Sorry you missed US Navy Flag he was made to look second best to AOB’s four runners in that race today when in fact he should have been the choice of Ryan Moore, who must have known Sioux Nation would not go on the ground and US Army Flag would..10/1 and they had the second horse 25/1.
Nice forecast for the Tabor team who always seem to come up smelling of roses
good luck tomorrow haven’t looked yet at the two year old races…Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 1, 2017 at 04:18 #1319568Clemmie looked a superb winner, especially over a distance shorter than she would be best at. I hope they don’t take her to America as she looks a top drawer filly.
October 1, 2017 at 11:26 #1319604Backed Masar, Dee Ex Bee today.
October 1, 2017 at 12:42 #1319617Good luck judge sitting that one out today.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 1, 2017 at 12:55 #1319623I’ve sat out the Lagadere as I really have no idea what’s going to happen but I felt in the Marcel-Boussac that the market is being a bit unfair on the chances of a couple and have backed Narella (11/1) and Soustraction (12/1).
October 1, 2017 at 13:55 #1319633What a slow tub of crud masar is.
October 1, 2017 at 15:31 #1319666At least Dee Ex Bee won- that was a battle royale in the final furlong.
October 1, 2017 at 16:16 #1319688I think Happily deserves to be the Oaks favourite after what she did today. She looks like she’ll relish a trip next year and with Coolmore holding a firm grip on the 1000 Guineas already I think this one will probably run in a Oaks Trial in Ireland in the Spring rather than run at Newmarket.
October 1, 2017 at 16:18 #1319690Olmedo looked the winner in that race, but didn’t seem to want to go through with it? Or wasn’t as experienced as Happily?
Either way, I think he will win the Jockey Club.
October 4, 2017 at 19:54 #1320143A promising win from Sacred Life at Saint-Cloud today in the Group 3 Prix Thomas Byron. Stephane Wattel’s Siyouni colt had won his first two races and in a strange progression for a 2YO horse he started at a mile, dropped to 7 and a half and then went down another 1/2 furlong today. Offsetting the drop in trip was the very soft ground and to be honest it looked that the extra stamina requirement came to the winner’s aid today.
There was a stage of the race where Sacred Life had to be shoved along to challenge and he drifted across in behind one runner and then another one before he finally got up to full speed. From there however, he seemed to fairly rattle home and in the end he came right away to win by what had at one stage looked a highly unlikely six lengths.
Josephine Gordon rode Hugo Palmer’s Alba Power into second and that 96 rated colt has several form lines to races in the UK, including a fifth in the July Stakes, behind the likes of Cardsharp, US Navy Flag, Rajasinghe and Invincible Army. Also competing in today’s was Godolphin’s Aqabah, who had been 5th in the Coventry and also contested races with fairly decent 2YO runners throughout the season. Aqabah finished 4th, more than 8 lengths behind Sacred Life today.
I feel Sacred Life is sure to have improved a fair bit on his 88 Racing Post Rating coming into today. He must be into 3 figures now and has come a good way forward in two months. The trainer has said that, if all goes to plan, the target is the Group 1 Criterium International on 29th October, a race reduced to 7F in recent times and won by Thunder Snow last year. A win there would surely put Sacred Life to the fore of the French Classic betting. The one caveat would be that the trainer felt 7F today was on the sharp side for the colt and if it were not testing ground there might be an issue.

An interesting performance and he seemed to be flying when the others had buckled.
ps
If I were representing Godolphin I would be suggesting that the Credit Card might be due an airing.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 6, 2017 at 21:15 #1320406Sacred Life clocked a Topspeed figure of 100 and earned a RPR of 113 for his win the other day.
His RPR puts him on the same figure as Olmedo, who was runner up to Happily in the Lagardere.
The trainer hinted that this may be the best horse he has trained and they are excited about his next start.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Study Of Man race replay, cosy:-

Miesque is his granny, so he has talent in his genes.
Near Gold, who was second to Study Of Man last time was expected to go one better at Chantilly today and he did so in pretty much effortless fashion. The son of Dansili travelled well all the way and when given the go ahead he came three lengths clear without much fuss. Today’s runner up Blue Link also ran behind Study Of Man last time.
Near Gold is a fine looking colt and he should make a useful 3YO over 10F plus. He holds an Epsom Derby entry, as does his conqueror Study Of Man.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 14, 2017 at 14:54 #1321599Pleasing to see Kew Gardens win so well at Newmarket. Advertising the form of Saxon Warrior and Nelson….
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
October 15, 2017 at 01:18 #1321713Really impressed with Guaiyyath today, he’s a giant of a horse with a powerful engine and put the rest in his shadow. Progressing with every run he’ll be featuring in the Classics next year, I feel an Eminent moment coming on

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 18, 2017 at 14:16 #1322120Freddy Head’s With You followed up in grand style stepped up to Group 3 company at Deauville today.
Pushed up to lead early, it was very straightforward as she controlled the race from the front, encountering zero problem in kicking on to steadily draw clear to win by two and a half lengths, receiving just one tap and hand riding.
A quality performance and another filly that Head is training who seems better than Efaadah, who bombed out in the Fillies Mile, yet was said to Head’s best for ages.
Just a shade of La Cressonniere about the Dansili filly and she will surely be back for a French Guineas trial next spring if she doesn’t race again this season.

That’s as comfortable as you could want in a Group race and she must be in the best of the French fillies this season.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 20, 2017 at 21:53 #1322511Henri Pantall’s colt Wootton earned Classic quotes after easily landing the Prix Isonomy at Deauville yesterday.
It wasn’t a great race the colt won first time out but he did win by six lengths and earned a very decent RPR of 90 that day.
Returning to Deauville for the Isonomy, he looked decent odds at 2/1 for the tougher race, given that he seemed to have scope that some of the others lacked. No doubt if he were trained by Fabre or Rouget, he would have gone off much shorter in the betting.
In the race itself Wootton was settled in mid-field travelling comfortably, it was very straightforward and he closed up effortlessly before being asked to go and win his race. He went on readily and was then a shade green for a few strides before pulling away to win by five lengths. He had won six lengths previously and I feel he needs to be rated 110 at least now, with similar form to Sacred Life in my mind.
A well made and good moving colt he has scope to be a Classic contender. He is as low as 12/1 for the Newmarket 2000 Guineas but I can’t get involved because I can’t recall Pantall having my runners in the UK period, far less in a Classic. As far as I am aware he has never had a winner in UK/Ireland and is 0/2 at Newmarket all time. Something I feel needs taking into consideration at 12/1 odds.
You can watch Wootton here:-
http://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/race-replays/2/2984/
Easy as you could wish for.
Unsurprisingly he is by Wootton Bassett, who was an excellent 2yo for Richard Fahey. That is another concern for the Guineas though, as Wootton Bassett was nowhere near his juvenile form as a 3YO, going backwards from a 5th place in the French Guineas.
Almanzor is by far the best of Wootton Bassett’s progeny, 24 lbs clear of the next on the list. Even he was retired after a setback and it dull’s confidence in an ante-post bet for the Guineas with Wootton.
Promising sort for all that though and he can’t do much more than impress the way that he has so far.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
