I think Dysart dynamo will be the one sent elsewhere

His entry over Christmas was the 2m4f lawlors of naas not the 2 mile grade 1

Even though he didnt run that gives a small insight into willies thinking

Whereas Sir Gerhard has just won the premier 2 mile novice hurdle in Ireland a race that will almost certainly be the main trial for this for the foreseeable future

And SG is already a festival winner so definitely handles the track

If you’re going to send one to the ballymore it has to be DD

I think the only way they don’t get split is if the ground gets very soft

Thats my thinking i won’t pretend to know what Mr mullins is going to do

As mentioned previously, DD may well not get home well enough over 2 miles 5 and Sir Gerhard was pencilled in for the Ballymore at the start of the season by the trainer, and didnt jump well over the weekend the trainer said. The decision could go either way but most ‘judges’ on podcasts i’ve seen have been talking in a similar direction to the above so we will see which way they go.

I have covered Sir Gerhard at 4-1 for this just in case. Mullins’ record of horses winning at the DRF coming here is 11141 apparently.

Yep. FF sums it up perfectly.

If WPM sends SirG up in trip it’ll be a surprise to me. The only thing that could make him do that in my view is his sticky jumping the last day- but if you watch, he was looking around at time, and i think he lost his concentration.

As for the Jonbon- Colonel Mustard points, yes Jonbon won easy, and could’ve won by more. Same can be said that if Sir G jumped better he could’ve won even further……and his race was a proper race.

FWIW i’m covering my sir g supreme and dd ballymore bets with Sir G in the Ballymore NRNB.

I’d be more confident of him winning a Ballymore at a shorter price than he is now, than backing DD in a hot Supreme.

Jonbons not in the same league as the front 3 jack, need not mention the formline with mustard, its pointless, sir g ran to 150 at the weekend with plenty room for more, jonbons ran 145 twice now, with less room for improvement, not in the same league, atall.

As for dd sg entries over christmas, mullins historically has said it doesnt matter the distance they run, just getting the run into them is the important part, so i wouldnt pay too much attention to who was where, its a close call, either could go and either could just as easily win, the ballymore is supposedly easier of the two (currently) but its really not, if either sg or dd ran against a horse who really turned the race into a slog, id be fairly confident neither would stay

Theres virtually 0 chance both come here unless he holds el fab in some other spectrum (he doesnt) coin toss but id still personally send sir g over further, as you alluded to with DD jack previously, the jumping made you think hed be better suited to the ballymore, SG’s jumping was worse, but was in a far better race,

Mighty potter will come in and win easily now after all the debate, lol

ham you mention jonbons ran 145 twice now, with less room for improvement, not in the same league, atall.

    What’s that based on?

Henderson is a past master at improving horses sufficiently at Cheltenham from their preps.

Its based on his pre race antics, his lacklustre performance lto, no improvement from run to run, i dont care what nicky can or cant do im not criticizing nicky here, the horse isnt good enough, he didnt look to have 6lbs improvement in him LTO and CH/DD/SG have all put up better performances, with less runs, they have alot more room to improve based on that and more often than not, that proves to be the case with novices

Ive said it a million times now, if jonbon was trained by someone else after his last run hed have been pushed out to 10/1, now, if he was that price currently i wouldnt knock chancing him e/w by the off chance hes an anomaly to the above,

But i wouldnt be backing him against the top 3, hes not good enough

To flip the question back to you, bar your admiration for what nicky can do, whats the evidence he will find atleast another 7lbs, to win? atleast. Im expecting atleast one to run an appreciate it figure here, so in reality its more like a stone he needs to find

Jonbon is only 3lbs less than Constitional Hill on ratings given, and Constitutional Hill is favourite. Jonbon definitely in the mix. Amount of improvement from preps to March with the Henderson (and Mullins) horses is an unknown. Jumping will be important i feel.

A couple of form lines from the Betfair Hurdle…

Jetoile who was 2nd to Constitution Hill comes last in the Betfair Hurdle. Meanwhile, I Like To Move It, who finished last to Jonbon nearly wins the Betfair Hurdle.

Did Jetoile run to form today when finishing 40 lengths last in the betfair?
Did I like To Move It run to form when finishing 13 3/4 lengths last to Jonbon?

If not there are no “form lines” Mike.

Nice arguments for and against Sir G going supreme/ballymore but what’s the point when the exchanges tell you everything time and time again . I know they aren’t right all the time of course but the exchanges seem to know decisions much quicker than the press haha.

Anyway, the exchanges suggest Sir G is about an 80/20 chance of going ballymore over supreme

Willie was in bed last night when intruders burst in and held him at gun point
Willie said “there is few grand in the safe”
the intruders replied “we don’t want the money, we want to know which race Sir G is running in”

A picture of Constitution Hill and Jonbon. Anyone agree with me yet that Jonbon looks a chaser for next season? ;o)

Jonbon looks much taller Constitution hill looks to have a longer body and therefore a longer stride length

Henderson has always said both have futures chasing. Both look chasers
Plans can change though and depending what happens in the Supreme one could be kept hurdling and JP loves a hurdler
