On Poster of The Year I was hoping that there might be some sort of a consensus. There hasn’t been so far, and I think it may be best to drop this category. There is enough mutual back-slapping in this game already without us adding to it.

I’d argue on the contrary. The fact we’re mostly given to discuss things in a more civil manner than (puts on Alan Whicker voice) certain other forums I can mention, and do to a very large extent delight in the learning and entertainment we derive from each other, mean that an acknowlegdement of the best purveyors of that via a Poster of The Year award is entirely reasonable.

…and I thought that even before Burroughhill nominated me. Oh yes.

That’s a ‘dumping’ offence, surely!

I’m thinking more of a ‘riding lesson on a wild one’ offence.

maybe off the wall a bit but that might work here, how about photo of the year, but taken and provided by forum members ? i’m sure lots here take the odd snap at the races …

I think Grey Desire, Mully, Zoz and Zome’s ears have all just pricked up 8) – good call I reckon, sir.

I think that JG should be nominated as Poster of The Year – 1914 posts and still not a hint of a grammatical faux pas – awesome.

No strong feelings here – apart from outrage at not being shortlisted!
Seriously though, everybody who posts regularly which ensures the forum is fresh and interesting every day is to be thanked.

    Villain
As already mentioned, tie between Lord Donoghue and "the lawyer"

    Horse
Although I have an aversion to seeing this horse constantly win effortlessly after falling in the Champion Chase in 2006 thus scuppering my 10/1 Ante-Post bet of that year, it has to be Kauto Star

    Jockey
    Ryan Moore

    Trainer
Dr RP Newland – improved 2 of the 4 horse in his care by 2 stone each (Overstrand & Burntoakboy)

    Ride of the Year
    Ryan Moore in the Eclipse

    Others
cormack15 should get a mention for the transfer of the forum to the new platform, although not informing the members beforehand was a bad oversight as I had nothing to do for about 4 days!

We should also thank JTS for his tireless campaign to have the forum clock sorted which finally happened on Saturday night / Sunday morning – well done Jim!

Good to see Alex Hankin (NAP) getting his full page back recently. I do hope the Post found the space by dumping Peter Savill.

Surely Alastair Down would be preferable after his latest in a long line of shite this morning

Thinks that JG hasn’t seen NQ’s Facebook photos lately…..
