    Daryz 6-4.

Should be odds-on. Ombudsman is a good horse, but not in the same class, while Minnie Hauk is more of a stayer and won’t live with the new, improved Daryz over a mile and a quarter.

(waits for Mike to post some AOB spiel about Minnie Hauk being faster this year)

I love Minnie but this is the French horses race to win and as you say should be odds on

Unsure about Daryz at the moment. The horses he’s beaten into 2nd this season were 117 and 114 rated French horses and as he is 127 he was entitled to look good in them. Ombudsman is rated 128 and Minnie Hauk 123 and getting 4 lbs. So on ratings it’s tight. Daryz is a short price based on what he could be over 10f rather than what he’s done to this point. He also finished last the only time he’s encountered the word firm in the going description. That may have been a bad day at the office but still a little question mark.

We don’t know yet if Daryz or Minnie Hauk have the speed over 10f on the usual summer ground to beat Ombudsman if he has trained on. I’d rather throw an ew dart at Minnie Hauk to find out in what is a tight race on the ratings.

Hopefully Minnie Hauk does the business at the Curragh and Ombudsman runs respectably on his seasonal debut so it sets the race up nicely.

    Minnie Hawk 5-1 ew
