Thank you dear Jac, please have a look at the Irish Oaks (a very German tree
) thread, you shouldn’t miss out on this. For me it is between the two of us as late Michael Hutchence once sang “and they will never tear us apart..” Hope this wasn’t too cheesy for you right now?
And please defend me against Joni and Nate, as they will probably kick my butt on Joni’s thread
,
but I would be strong enough to live with this
Thank you for playing our German Snow, I would always fancy a Sea The Moon, but I don’t like Markus Klug (means smart, but he isn’t
) at all..July 17, 2020 at 02:01 #1494123Hein…saw your post on Irish Oaks Thread it would make me happy if you did edit it a little as I think Istabraq was just having a little joke.
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 17, 2020 at 02:09 #1494130Thank you Jac, I’m sometimes still a (Tottenham
) hotspur, but I followed your advice,
so we will hopefully meet again
July 17, 2020 at 02:20 #1494133About Joni’s thread it was of course only a bad joke from me, as I will stand my ground myself
July 18, 2020 at 13:11 #1494268Afternoon gang, some really interesting racing today, mega tough big handicaps are right
up my street. I was lucky enough to bag Sky Defender last time out, and I think he could
pull it off again today in the 2.3o at York. He’s maybe been a little unlucky getting
the outside draw in 23, but if Joe Fanning can get him out sharpish and coast over, he
should still be able to lead them along the way he likes to. I took the 25/1 ante post,
but he’s still available at those odds. Hoping to see his price fall nearer to the off
as Johnston’s stable like a bet if they fancy one. If he stays out at that I’d be a bit
concerned.Hein I know you’re not a fan of Connor Beasley who is on my fancy Dakota Gold. He wouldn’t
come top of my list either but, I don’t have a problem and he knows the horse better than anyone.
He’s not been in top form this year, but I can’t see him having a 3rd bad run in a row, he was the
model of consistancy last year. I got him at 11/1 a couple of days back with Paddy Power. It might seem a bit of a contradiction, but my nap today hasn’t made it into the winners
enclosure for 3 years. Tommy Taylor is a really decent sort who has been running
consistantly well without getting his head in front and as a result he’s been dropping down
the handicap from a high of 107 2 years back to 91 today. His last 2 at Gowran Park and the
Curragh were good runs in 2nd and 3rd, and the 3lbs he’s gone up won’t hold him back. He’s
been running over 7f and 6f and I’ve got a theory that 7f just stretched him too much and
maybe he just lacks that killer kick at 6f. This 6 1/2f might just be the answer. I put him
up in the ante post thread at 14/1, he’s shortened a bit and Paddy is the
only one standing 10/1, he’s mostly 8s and 9s. I fancy his chances
I might dabble a bit more, but that’s all I’ve bet today at the. I’m keeping an eye out to
see how The Mighty Gurkha and Lady G (how could I miss her) do in the market and I’ll probably
have a couple of quid there too.I’m glad to hear Jac that you are enjoying Money Heist, it’s like a book you can’t put down
once you’re into it. You’ll love the rest too
Best of luck today gang, I hope be can bang in a few winners

Very best of luck
July 18, 2020 at 14:30 #1494272Well I did have a bet on Mighty Gurkha at 11/2, but thanks to paddy having a big flashy sign
saying “special price F/C Method to beat Mighty Gurkha 13/2 I thought that covered
things well enough…….CONGRATS! 🤑

got to have the chance of a place
July 18, 2020 at 15:24 #1494279I’ve taken the 11/2 with Lady G. I think Mrs G has aspirations abover her station
July 18, 2020 at 16:20 #1494289Well done with your special bet on Method/Mighty Gurka Graham that was a generous offer from themselves and has topped up your stash for a few decent plays next weekend.

I only backed 3 horses today Virgin Snow, Desert Icon (wrong Haggas horse) and Snow coming up this evening at The Curragh could do with a win at the moment but I did take more time studying the Irish Oaks trying to get inside AOB’s mind..virtually impossible.

My Pablo Escobarr is running a Newbury tomorrow in the 3.25 so hoping he can get his big white face in front.

Look forward to seeing what you’ll be backing tomorrow and for the Irish Oaks if you are having a bet on that.

Good luck
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 18, 2020 at 18:12 #1494294Yes it was a decent offer, otherwise I’m left with a few nearly stories (so far as my nap runs in 5 mins)
I said with Sky Defender that the market would tell a tale, and so it was. No money came for it and
it drifted out to 33s before coming in a little to 28s. That should get a few pounds back off his
mark, I think that was the plan
Mrs G looked like winning until the last 50 yards, but
it was a good run. The Mighty Gurkha ran a great race, he just found one that could be exceptional
in Method.Strangely enough I can’t get too worked up about the irish Oaks. I’ll continue this in a few mins
after the race Tommy Taylor just coming up so I hope there’s no hard luck story here, fingers crossed
July 18, 2020 at 18:35 #1494295Well certainly no hard luck story with Tommy Taylor Jac, he was awful

Anyway, onto the Oaks. It’s a strange race as normally I get a feel for something that
looks the part. To be honest Jac I’m not overly impressed with any of them, I wouldn’t
be surprised if they were all there scrapping it out at the finish. Your horse Snow has
as good a chance as any of the fancied horses, she could well take this. If value is
coming into it, I’m not ruling out Yaxeni at 66/1 with Willie Hill.
IF you fancy Snow, then in their last race Snow was 11/4 and Yaxeni was 3/1. In the
one before that at Leopardstown, Snow went off at 8/1 and Yaxeni was 5/1, they were
2nd and 3rd.In her 1 Maiden as a 2year old, she won with Passion nearly 6 lengths behind. Passion
is 7/1 here. When she was beaten in her last two, she wasn’t tiring at the end, she just
didn’t get there soon enough. If she can manage the pace here, and finish well, there’s
every hope she could at least get a place. I’d rather chance her at 66s E/W than anything
else in the race. I’d happily settle for runner up to Snow, that would be a good end to the
day for us both
July 19, 2020 at 09:45 #1494347No luck in the Irish Oaks, it just seemed like they had taken out the best to let one of the rest win it, obviously got higher hopes for Love and as for Peaceful well wonder where she will appear next?
Quite a few decent horses out today so have listed some below quickly. Family round today for garden meet up later and chaos will reign LOL, I’ll be slipping away to check up on the results.
Some that have caught my eye quickly are Dancin Inthestreet & Royal Intervention in the Summer Mile, Nahaar 2.15 Newbury and a certainty at the Curragh apart from Snowfall 2.00 Curragh must surely be MOTHER EARTH 3.10 Curragh. Sticking with Pablo Escobarr 3.25 Newbury now back at 1m2f this could suit better. At Chantilly I like the chances of Golden Crown in the Prix de Bagatelle and think Roseman could well lay it down to his half brother Persian King today in the Prix d’Ispahan.
Could be adding a few more later.Good luck if you play today Graham/Nathan/Nick I think it looks better than yesterday…Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 19, 2020 at 12:44 #1494372a few to avoid to day
Faylaq around 5/1 EW 3.35 newbury
Motamarris 11/2 EW 3.35 chantilly.Get It may seem strange i am backing this EW at 3/1 but cant see it out of the 5( Royal Ascot form really is holding up as you would probably expect) and if we fall in the five we get 60% of our stake back.
Hope all the ‘meydaners’ are all in good health and banging in the winners
July 19, 2020 at 12:52 #1494374
Good luck today Nick
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 19, 2020 at 12:55 #1494376and too you Jac
July 19, 2020 at 13:48 #1494386I hope it is better than yesterday Jac, an offer from Paddy Power kept me in the black,
but too many were close but no cigar. Hoping for a better return today.1.55 York –Maystar 25/1 E/W (placed yesterday)
He’s been a bit of a globetrotter for a young un, won in Doha and just
collared late on in Chantilly. Ran better in 3rd last time out after
a tough task at Royal Ascot.2.50 Newbury – Jojo Rabbit 25/1 E/W 4 places
I’m a fan of Get It and backed him on his 2 starts, both at over
20/1. The 1st was a good place, the 2nd was just outside. He could
be the one for this, but at 3/1 in a cavalry charge like this I’d
rather have something which might spring a surprise and hopefully
Jojo is just the one. He had an impossible task against The Lir jet
at Ascot last month but ran a good race at Sandown last time out,
despite tiring at the end. This course should suit better than the
stiff finish at Sandown and she has the pace to get out fast and
lead them up the far rail.3.05 York – Dark Lady 15/1 Paddy Power E/W 4 places
She had a gutsy win over Millisle at Salisbury, and then was well beaten by
the same filly next time out at Newmarket. She’s had a wind op since then
and looked better when she came out 2 weeks back at Windsor in 4th, but that
was after a really tardy start. If Buick can get her out smartish here she
should have a decent chance.I’ve got 1 to write up yet, but I’ll head off to watch Maystar first.
July 19, 2020 at 14:15 #14943873.25 Newbury – Walkinthesand 20/1 3 E/W places
Returned after a break at Ascot and finished well down the field. You can
forget that run, the soft going was all against him but it at least will
have got him fitter. His last win last year was on g/f carrying top weight
in a very decent handicap. The ground is down as good, but there’s a fair
warm breeze so it could be on the firm side come the race. That’s me done for the day, I hope my man Jon Rahm can hold on as leader
and win in the Memorial Tournament tonight. It’s been going really well for
me, winner and 1st round leader last week, but what about our own Raymo, he’s
only gone and had a 150/1 winner last week and 125/1 winner yesterday. The man’s
on fire
