Old Persian is my nap of the day, did remarkably well to win last time given his troubled passage, would likely have bolted up with a clear run which will hopefully happen on Saturday
Only bet iv had so far is a small e/w trixie
Had
Drafted 11/1
Prince of arran 16/1
I can fly 12/1Contemplating having a big double on cross counter and old Persian, but not sure which way I will go on the day, a single on old persian perhaps most likely
March 26, 2019 at 15:23 #1406173Old Persian for me at 15/8 laddies/365
Blue Point had to settle for 6/4 a few weeks ago, fair play to Hein and others who are on at twice those odds
Almond Eye had bits on already at 11/8 will go in again if she drifts to 6/4+
Found the Gold Cup tricky with all the juice now gone out of the price for Ispolini will sit that out and enjoyThat will be it for me and hope we all back plenty on Saturday. Well done to all the winners throughout the thread.
Now onto the turf season over hereGood Luck
March 27, 2019 at 10:33 #1407390just a few to note
Almond Eye drawn (7) Dream Castle (2) Wootton (13) Without Parole (12) Century Dream (11)
Sands Of Mali (2) Blue Point (8) Lost Treasure (3)
March 27, 2019 at 15:03 #1407820Usual foray into Meydan for the big day, like the once a year National punters

Dubai Gold Cup – Cross Counter 13/8
Much the best in this field and the 2 miles will suit like it did in the MC. I’d have him nearer 5/4.Dubai Turf – Almond Eye 11/8
Broke track records in Japan and think Dream Castle has been flattered in Meydan so far this season. I’d have her around evens.Sheema Classic – Magic Wand 6/1
She likes to go from near the pace and kick like she did in the Ribblesdale, hopefully she can do that here on a track that suits being on the pace in a poor renewal of this race. She’s a fair each way bet, priced her around 5/1.March 27, 2019 at 22:58 #1409959Hi Guys.
Here are the beginnings of my meanderings!!
12.15
COAL FRONT 8/1
This IMO is the one to give Muntazah a race and maybe beat it. Has ran all its races on dirt and Todd Pletcher will have him readied up for this!
March 27, 2019 at 23:04 #140997912.50
Godolphin hold all the aces here and could conceivably have the one two three. I have had a very speculative bet on SHARPALO at 40/1 in the hope that he will improve for the half a mile step up in trip.
Both Cross Counter and Ispolini have done me favours in the past CC at Goodwood was my biggest bet of the meeting and also won me plenty in Oz and Ispolini has won me the last twice too!!
Like I say just a small each way bet here and more of a watching and enjoying race for me
March 28, 2019 at 08:35 #1410666Placed my bets for the big day already to beat the prices. Some have already shortened. Played 9 across the 8 race card.
Looks a card for the favourites to me. Here goes:
Godolphin Mile – Muntazah at 5/4 & Coal Front each way at 9/1
Dubai Gold Cup – Cross Country at 7/4
Al Quoz Sprint – Blue Point at 4/6
UAE Derby – Divine Image at 11/4
Golden Shaheen – Roy H at 5/4
Dubai Turf – Almond Eye (NAP) at 11/8
Dubai Sheema – Old Persian at 19/10
Dubai World Cup – Cappezano each way at 5/1 (4 places)
Good luck all
March 28, 2019 at 19:52 #1410743Hope you got nrnb on Roy h as doesn’t look like he is running
March 28, 2019 at 21:55 #1411287FF is correct,Roy H is a non runner
March 28, 2019 at 22:44 #1411294Good luck everyone
It seems the horses we like most are very short priced and the bookies don’t give away enhanced prices on races at Meydan, well PP don’t so have to get best price on the day if putting a little more on.Muntazah, Cross Counter, Divine Image and Old Persian would make a nice acca for a £5 stake from fancied horses and will do a 5 x timer to include Thunder Snow in the World Cup.

Good luck to the Almond Eye Camp…
I’m still hoping that Dream Castle has been watching videos of his dad.
Enjoy the evening…Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 28, 2019 at 23:46 #1411535Thunder snow being drawn so wide was very dissapointing
Only real hope now is that there is a proper burn up on the front and the pace collapses as surely he cant bag the golden highway from stall 12 with North America and cappezano getting perfect draws
March 29, 2019 at 13:47 #1412613Thunder Snow did it last year FF drawn 10/10 and Soumillon knows him well.
As long as he’s quickly away out of the stalls, takes an early lead and pushes on he’ll win it again ..come on Thunder Snow
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 29, 2019 at 14:41 #1412705I know but north America missed the break last year which made it a lot easier for thunder snow
March 29, 2019 at 17:47 #1413403He’s just a personal favourite of mine FF (among many Godolphin horses, most mentioned above), and so wouldn’t desert him under any circumstances
.. good luck with your plays and report back how you faired
It looks like Godolphin hold most of the aces but some very talented opposition there to ruin the party..just let them all come back sound is all I can ask..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 29, 2019 at 18:05 #1413407Had a little bit EW on Call The Wind at 7/2
Good luck everyone, can’t wait now
March 29, 2019 at 19:25 #1413422Had a closer look at call the winds form and now thinking he should be co favourite
He beat holdthaisgren who won a group 1 next time and had previously beaten Marmelo off level weights
Cross counter however beat marmelo by a length receiving 9lbs
At the prices he looks like a good bet
March 30, 2019 at 12:22 #1414832Great start Raymo
Heavy Metal really unlucky but what a great race
