Wall of Fire has all but been confirmed today for this race
Mr Palmer has said it’s been the long term goal for the horse
33/1 will do for me at very sporting odds for this years winner
Who does everyone else fancy for the big race…..?Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
August 31, 2017 at 18:42 #1316308I’m of the understanding that Order Of St George’s participation depends on what weight he’ll be allocated on 12th September but one assumes he’s an unlikely traveller; as is Rekindling by the sound of things with connections eyeing going over next year.
Of the European contingent St Michel is the one I like the chances of most. I think he’ll cope with the whole affair a lot better than some of the others which are looking like heading down under. It’s not a race for every horse and plenty of European connections will be left disappointed. I’m not entirely sure Nakeeta or Thomas Hobson will be happy there much and personally I’d rather see Wall Of Fire on Champions Day.
I’ve chucked a couple of quid on Aloft at 50/1 who is being aimed at the Melbourne Cup after winning last time out. He finished 2nd in the Schweppes Chairman’s Handicap back in April over 13 furlongs and won the 2015 Queen’s Vase for Aiden O’Brien so the test should be ideal. He now represents top Australian connections in the shape of trainer Bob Hickmott and owner Lloyd Williams and could be flying under the radar all things considered.
October 30, 2017 at 20:58 #1324214Wall of Fire has made the cut
12/1 now top price
Can’t wait for thisGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
October 30, 2017 at 21:14 #1324216I backed Rekindling at 54/1 just after the St. Leger. I’m hopeful!
October 30, 2017 at 21:23 #1324217I’ve been interested in Marmelo for a few weeks and I’m tempted to have some more at 8s.
October 31, 2017 at 15:12 #1324307Looking very doubtful for Thomas Hobson as it stands ATM. Wall of Fire could also be in danger now, despite being on number 24. There are two races this week where the winner automatically leapfrogs into the Cup potentially knocking him down to 25/26.
Anyone thinking of having a bet on these two now may well be better off waiting till Saturday to see what happens. Unlike UK rules i’m quite sure you do not get money back if they are balloted out.
Looking likely that ” The Magic Man ” will be on Max Dynamite

Qewy and Gallante are doubtful runners in the Melbourne Cup, so if they don’t run it won’t matter who wins the Bendigo or the Lexus as far as Wall of Fire is concerned. Also, it’s possible these two races will be won by a horse already in the Melbourne Cup, so I wouldn’t fret too much.
October 31, 2017 at 20:12 #1324340Fingers crossed then Voleur…..

Looks like a bit of team tactics at play. Just pointing it out that it is a possibility and truly hope Nathans horse runs.
October 31, 2017 at 23:47 #1324369Fair enough Botchy, I was one of those who believed he was talking about the Cup, thanks for clarifying.
November 1, 2017 at 13:54 #1324427Qeewy was not the best result today Nathan, sounds a bit 50/50 that Qeewy runs now

As it stands, if one of the 8 Lexus runners still in the Cup wins and decides to go for the Cup and none of the other 23 confirmed runners drop out, Wall of Fire will miss the race. That is presuming Qeewy runs.

If Ecuador or Havana Cooler wins he will run for definite. I think i have got it right, very confusing system.

Now Thomas Hobson is in exactly the same position as Wall of Fire
November 3, 2017 at 12:41 #1324707No; I’ve backed Abbey Marie [darnit]. Yours had better win now, Nat!
