Probably it won’t be popular, but Danedream would have kicked her butt

Obviously it’s right to praise Enable but a massive run from Ulysses, I would like to see some more recognition for what a progressive horse he is and what an effort it was from him on ground much against him. Idaho also ran a cracker and he should have a big race in him as well before the season’s out. Highland Reel actually ran a better race than it initially looked and might well have been a lot closer if not for the rain on the day. Benbatl ran well enough and wasn’t disgraced. My Dream Boat was disappointing but just maybe isn’t up to this level any more, Jack Hobbs looks like a horse with injury problems and Sixties Song looked a million dollars but had no chance on the ground and I hope they stay over for a tilt at York if they get quick ground.

Agreed Charles. I wonder if his temperament has gone, probably due to a physical problem. After the Prince Of Wales it was possible he needed softer ground – after his injury. But it was also possible he’s remembering the hurting and therefore not wanting to go through with his effort. Also carries his head too high for my liking. Despite settling far better than the POW didn’t find anything off the bridle today. Such horses are often best fresh. Might not be a coincidence that both the Sheema Classic victory and good Champion Stakes third came off long breaks. If he were mine I’d give him a break and come back for one last try in the Champion again.
Value Is EverythingJuly 30, 2017 at 21:47 #1311991It’s amazing the progress Enable has made this year. When she was a running on placed at Newbury her first race of the year noone could surely have predicted she would have gone on to hit the heights she has.
