Sunspangled just finds any straw which which ENABLE him to tip up an O’Brien runner.
Never known him to tip anything but an O’Brien horse actually.

Never known him to stir it with any posters, but those who have had disagreements with his hero on here actually
July 26, 2017 at 12:34 #1311404I don’t know where weather improving forecast is coming from cause there are showers today, scattered showers tomorrow and then showers again on Friday, and then into Saturday morning.
Hawkbill at 16/1.
July 26, 2017 at 12:46 #1311406Official going was changed Wednesday morning from soft, good-soft in places to good-soft all round. So on that news it does appear a little better. Not sure I believe that though. Often, going reports change from soft to good-soft shortly before a deluge is expected. May be because then they don’t need to go out in the rain to test it? Getting away with changing it back to soft.
Value Is EverythingJuly 26, 2017 at 13:11 #1311408With the bits of rain around it will go off at least good-soft. Will be enough to put off a few. Back in on Enable at 11/8 and snaffled some more 11/2 on jack Hobbs ew last night.

Have you had any disagreements with my “hero?”
not any that I can recall, yet I still think you’re an arse.
July 26, 2017 at 14:17 #1311414Looking at the current forecast my prediction for the ground come Saturday would be good to soft, with the potential it could be completely soft. If my prediction is correct then I would say both Highland Reel and Ulysses will not run and Enable will go off odds-on.
July 26, 2017 at 14:19 #1311415I suspect if there were odds on what the going’ll be on the day it’d be odds-on to be good to soft. That’s the current description and it’s been drizzling there today and with overcast conditions for the next few days it’ll struggle to dry out to get to good all round.
To be fair it is probably only Highland Reel that the conditions will be much of a problem for and whether he runs or not I’m happy with Jack Hobbs each0-way at 10/1. It’ll take a monstrous performance for anyone to defeat the dual-Oaks winner though.
July 26, 2017 at 14:29 #1311416To add credence; Highland Reel is out to 9/2 (not too hard to remember he was 5/4 only 2 weeks ago) and 6/1 on the exchanges with Ulysses out to 10/1. My Dream Boat whereas has halved in price.
July 26, 2017 at 18:33 #1311431I think bookies are now not taking any chances with Enable. Current prices of 6/5 (11/8 in a place) are exactly what I’d expect when 100% allowing for Ulysses, Highland Reel and Frontiersman not taking part.
Given 12f and a soft surface both place more emphasis on stamina, more difficult for a speed horse to quicken and his top-of-the-ground pointing-toe action… Ulysees was always going to miss the race if going was on the soft side of good.
Highland Reel has some form on good-soft (they might take a chance on it) however, best form is on firmer ground so suspect he’ll be a non-runner too.
Idaho was around 6 or 7/1 yeserday, thought that was pretty short. Then suddenly went out to 9/1, now double figures on betfair. Considering he does go well on soft ground, can’t see him being that price if turning up. particularly if Highland Reel comes out. Is all well with Idaho? If he’s doesn’t make it there Enable will start odds-on.
Can understand money for Hawkbill and My Dream Boat due to the ground. Be disappointing if latter is good enough. Former could get an easy lead if Coolmore pull out completely. Although whether Godolphin want their front-runner to make a slow pace is debatable, their first string Jack Hobbs might pull too hard unless there’s a good pace. I’d expect them to run either Hawkbill or Permian – not both, as they’re similar types and could hinder each other’s chance. Benbatl goes with a bit of give and stays the trip, but does he stay the trip with a bit of give? (Or more than a bit)?
Desert Encounter ran well in the Eclipse and proven at 12f on soft, but unlikely to be good enough. I remember seeing Algometer win a Group 3 at Newbury last year and thinking an increased test of stamina might bring more improvement. Strongly run race at 12f might be right up his street. Might be one at a massive price.
Value Is EverythingJuly 27, 2017 at 01:59 #1311455Weather forecast improving all the time, ground unlikely to be any worse than good.
Really? It looks to be worsening from what I can see.
My post was from the previous day, and the clerk of the course had said on that day that he was expecting it to be good.

I’ve never attacked you personally, not sure why you do so to me. I was merely quoting the clerk of the course on the day. I never tip any horse, I’m not into tipping, I unapologetically follow Ballydoyle horses, if I believe they are good, I don’t follow them blindly. I will continue, despite petty jibes. And I’m a ‘her’ actually.
July 27, 2017 at 06:34 #1311462Ignore him sunspangled. Judge enjoys irritating people with little digs here and there.

If you’re a girl you should be backing enable
July 27, 2017 at 11:49 #1311471Stop stirring Judge, you’ve made your point. Sunspangled and Charlie have a right to their opinions – as you do.

To be fair, Sunspangled; clerk of the course said the forecast was for anything from 3mm to XX and that if they get the lower end of the estimte he’d expect Good ground. ie If Ascot got a lot more than 3mm he’d expect it to be a lot softer than Good. Your taking of the clerk’s quote did seem a little rose coloured for Highland Reel’s prospects.
