Trainer said Leger trip would suit Westover after Epsom. He’s only beaten Piz Badle again.
June 25, 2022 at 16:03 #1604093Shame Tuesday didn’t run to form.
Can’t judge her or the Oaks form on that.
Did see she took a hefty bump turning in, but didn’t seem to be going that well at the time.
5th race since 27th March.
Races catching up with her?Value Is EverythingJune 25, 2022 at 16:05 #1604094imo The obvious thing to do would be to go for the King George, see how well he runs against Desert Crown and then decide Arc or Leger.
Value Is EverythingJune 25, 2022 at 16:09 #1604096Yes, Ginge. Salsabil was the 1990 winner and Balanchine the 1994 winner. Since then no other filly won it.
June 25, 2022 at 16:09 #1604097Makes sense Ginger. Get beat by the Crown, then Leger. ;o)
June 25, 2022 at 16:19 #1604099It would be bold to go for the King George after Epsom and The Curragh. It would have to be a worry they had no horse left for the autumn.
I hope they do go there but we all know how horses get wrapped up in cotton wool now, notwithstanding what Trueshan did today.
June 25, 2022 at 16:23 #1604103Trainer just said on RTV KG is the obvious route but would need to discuss with connections – also said he has never felt he was ground dependant although he did say with his action he would cope well with slower ground.
He seem pleasantly surprised by the manner of the performance and he did say he was a very straight forward horse to deal with and that he will improve with racing as his full brother (who he also trained did).
Potentially a good chance he could stay in training given his size and another year on his back
June 25, 2022 at 16:29 #1604105If he does go to the KG (23 July) then you can give him a break after that and bring him back for the Prix Niel which is mid September and then on to the Arc at the start of October.
Well it sounds good in theory anyway.
June 25, 2022 at 16:31 #1604107I’ve watched the oaks again and wonder how Nashwa may have fared coming between Tuesday and Emily Upjohn rather than checking and going outside. Certainly lost ground.
Of the three Nashwa has come out on top since.June 25, 2022 at 16:33 #1604108I think the runner up has run to his OR today, having failed to do so at Epsom and Westover could be rated 120 on today.
Really likeable progressive 3yo.
I liked the look of him when I saw him win the Classic Trial at Sandown and he’s turning out even better than I expected.
What a card that turned out to be – Emily Upjohn won a later race.

Westover much the better horse. I got him wrong and it cost me a fair chunkGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 25, 2022 at 19:38 #1604137Not the most plausible excuse but IMO infinitely preferable to saying “our hero overcomplicated things today” of Moore.
I don’t think Tuesday ran to her best today but, on my numbers, even if she has I think Westover still beats her.
Cracking effort from the winner, I thought.

Nah. That’s as good as she is.
June 25, 2022 at 21:47 #1604164She didn’t travel strongly or pick up
Can’t have that as her true running myself
June 25, 2022 at 21:57 #1604165Tuesday has finished over a length behind a colt with an OR of 107 who was giving her 3lb.
I simply can’t have The Oaks winner being only OR 102 and I think she’s run below form.
But I also thought think Westover had run a career best and runner up was the best she could have been today even if at her peak.

Official Ratings are not definitive; they’re only a guesstimate.
June 25, 2022 at 22:44 #1604171I know that, Gladders, but the second and third were rated 109 and 107 going into the race and their proximity to one another suggests that’s about right.
