Thanks Jac. I’ve actually got 680 points. Still last though! 1596th overall
February 4, 2019 at 12:03 #1395149I’ll put that right now Tonge and thanks..

Here’s a link to Thursday’s card (not all guaranteed to run yet) and it’s looking like I won’t have any runners in my stable, I desperately need to get the Bonus race right as I’m not swapping out this time, hope it’s a bit easier than last Thursday.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 7, 2019 at 12:51 #1395361I’ve swapped my entire stable this week. let’s see how that works out!
Btw, if you didn’t realise, you can duplicate positions for the Bonus Race – that is, if you think a Godolphin horse will win, but can’t decide which one, you can put them both to finish first. Cowardly but sometimes useful, especially as predicting placed horses is largely down to luck.February 7, 2019 at 16:36 #1395383Thanks for that Tonge
learning something every week.I expect you will take a nice ride up the leaderboard this week. I will be staying put as I didn’t swap any horses this week with only 3 swaps remaining.
Did predict Desert Fire as second place though
so a few bonus points…good luck this Thursday
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 8, 2019 at 02:51 #1396853Hi Jac, I had no horses in my stable for this Thursday’s competition, like you I decided
to hang on to my swaps to make sure I have them for the big races yet to come. I did have a
stab at the bonus, I had Nordic Lights down as the winner, but unfortunately I stuck Desert
Fire in for 3rd, and he went one better. The other 2 were equally wrong. Nonetheless it got
me 200 points, and I’m on 1620 PTS and in position 686.I did have a bet on NL, my only bet of the day, I took him at 9/4 this morning before I was
out for most of the day bathroom hunting with Mrs G…..it’s doing my head in
. We
still couldn’t decide on what we wanted, so it looks like I’ll be back out tomorrow doing the
rounds again. I promised I’d have it all fitted before heading down to Cheltenham, I hope all
this bother with the equine flu is well past before that. Anyway, when I got home this evening
I was pleasantly surprised to see he had won at 11/4, it fair perked me up
February 8, 2019 at 10:13 #1396856Great result Graham
Nordic Lights certainly took the eye winning the way he did, my choice Symbolization managed to scrape in 4th place and in the Bonus Race I had him in 1st place with Desert Fire 2nd
Nordic Lights 3rd and Zoman 4th so 200 Bonus Points for me too. I’m now in position 622 with 1760 points.
Interesting point made by Tonge though that we can predict more than one of the bonus race horses to be the winner, I still don’t think I would have got it right yesterday though.Good luck with the bathroom hunting.
When we decided to change ours about 5 years ago my husband decided that he was just going to be overridden in everything he wanted and sent me out with my daughter to choose the whole lot including the tiles to the walls and floor and he would just sign the cheque. Shrewd move on his part as it was an absolute nightmare but we got there eventually, so best of luck to yourself and Mrs G on your travels tomorrow. The only advice I can offer is on the porcelain part of the bathroom…have a good look at the Spanish Roca porcelain, that we decided on, even 5 years on it’s as good as new
Like you very concerned about this Equine Flu and the effect on the horses training up for Cheltenham, and the meeting itself, let’s hope it all gets sorted very quickly and everything is back on track.
Have fun tomorrow at the battle of the bath, at least you won’t be feeling the need to dash into Paddy Power every time you pass to check on the results
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 8, 2019 at 11:22 #1396864Pity you couldn’t have got odds on your prediction of my rise through the leaderboard as it was quite a good week for me! Now on 1580 points and 709th overall. It should be higher as I also had Mubtasim but he hasn’t been credited with any points yet. Hopefully they will rectify that soon, or they’ll be hearing from me…
Good luck with the bathroom Big G. My advice would be to book some time away while they’re fitting it. Mine took a week and I was driven insane by the noise & mess! On the plus side, somebody nicked the old iron bath from my front garden during the night so we never had to negotiate who was responsible for disposing of that!
February 8, 2019 at 14:56 #1396883Well done Tonge
I’ll try predicting more often…for others rather than myself. A great points total and let us know when they stomp up your Mubtasim points
My old bath is still in the field up the top of our garden being used to water the horses that reside there. It’s a very sturdy fibreglass so no hope of anyone wanting to nick that, lovely to see the horses making good use of it.
