That’s great news Jac, thanks for pushing this on our behalf, and thanks
to David for taking our request to them. Hopefully this gathers a bit of
momentum and other TRFers might join our happy band
January 22, 2019 at 16:33 #1393265Indeed. Not as if any of us has built up an unassailable lead!

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 24, 2019 at 02:16 #1393400Thanks Jac, I’ll stuck mine on in the morning. I think both the Godolphin pair are decent, and
of the two I think Art Du Val looks the likelier. I’m not convinced they will have it their own
way and have a bit of a notion for Manguzi. He looks to have won his maiden at Jebel Ali well,
and last time was well ahead of the field, with the exception of the winner, Walking Thunder, who
looks like he could be a bit special winning all his 3 races without having to be exerted.I’ve also got Bay Of Poets, D’bai and Mythical Magic. I reckon D’bai has a good shout, whilst the
other 2 have a squeak. Good luck to you and all with their stable choices later today
January 24, 2019 at 06:35 #1393405I also think Art Du Val could win today Graham and he’s in my stable so fingers crossed. I do know he is well thought of and didn’t quite fulfill his potential last year, he is bred to go on the dirt so let’s hope he does well.

Also have Top Score running against your D’bai trying to break his run of four seconds, should be a good race that one.
Good luck with all your runners today some good points on the table.
I noticed that a lot of players at the top of the leadboard had changed their stable many times to include ALL the Godolphin runners each week, they will soon run out of swaps and the Group races are the ones to net the points.
I really wanted to have Dream Castle in my stable today but I’m holding fire and haven’t made any swaps yet.
Best of luck with the Bonus Race look forward to hearing how you all get on today..

January 24, 2019 at 12:07 #1393432Art Du Val is a non runner which is a bit of a pity seeing as he’s one of the two choices for
the bonus race. He’s one of your stable picks Jac, I hope he is alright and will be back out soon
for you Jac. I got an email this morning saying one of my horses, Dubai Icon, has been withdrawn
from training. There was no information as to why he’s been withdrawn from training, I hope he is
okay. I was allowed to transfer one in in his place, without effecting my 5 transfers, so I’ve stuck
in Blair House who is running today.I think you’re right to hang fire with the transfers Jac, the compy runs all year and there are bound
to be some emerging stars which will appear in the big races. I think those that have gone a bit gung-ho
in the first month might wish they had kept their powder dry a bit longer.Good luck today everyone
January 24, 2019 at 13:10 #1393439I also looked at Dream Castle and decided to leave transfers for another day. Only Bay of Poets running for me today.
January 24, 2019 at 13:11 #1393440Hello
I think there may be some confusion about transfers for the
Godolphin Dubai World Cup Carnival League. The start date was Thursday January 3rd 2019 and the end date
is Saturday March 9th 2019. So everyone as 5 Transfers between
these dates. Any horses taken out of training can be replaced
without any charge.Other competitions with different dates will follow later in 2019.
Should you manage to arrange a mini league for Forum members I would
definitely be pleased to join.Thank You
JohnJanuary 24, 2019 at 13:39 #1393443Thanks John I’m getting more and more confused with the transfer system because I joined the competition as late as October last year and could still transfer horses 5 times ..is that a new member perk? Managed to get quite a lot of points by end December but was never going to get close to the top.
Anyway welcome to our competition section of the Forum
and keep looking out for news from our admin David Cormack about the chances of a mini-league…Jac
Just noticed you said World Cup Carnival League does it start again after the World Cup in March?…Now I am confused.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 24, 2019 at 13:59 #1393444Hi Graham thanks for letting me know Art Du Val a non runner…what a shame as it has messed up the bonus race and I can’t change the position of the other Godolphin horse which I have down to finish 5th and I think he may get nearer now.
Maybe they are going to aim ADV for a higher grade race on turf I did think they were taking a punt with him today.
I’m all out for the grey horse now Al Seel Legacy’s to run well
Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 24, 2019 at 14:55 #1393449Just read through the rules again thanks to John and yes this part of the Fantasy League does run to the World Cup in March with last date to transfer 9th March so perhaps time to get transferring quite soon.
I must have joined in on another section of the comp culminating at end December 2018.
In view of this I’ve just transferred 3 of my horses and added Dream Castle today..still time Tonge if you decide too…Good luck and thanks to John for putting us straight
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 24, 2019 at 14:59 #1393450Thanks for that John, much appreciated

I’m in the same confused state as Jac now. It was mentioned at the start of this thread
that the competition ran from 3rd January to December, and to be honest I didn’t read all
the small print on the Godolphin site, which does indeed make it clear that the competition
runs from 3rd January to 9th March. This makes quite a difference in the transfer strategy.
If this competition is just for the Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse, and it
is pretty clear in the terms and conditions that it is, then that being the case is there a
separate competition which runs to December, as per the one Jac was involved in last year?
Apologies if I’ve mislead anyone, it’s a lesson to me……always read the small print
January 24, 2019 at 15:01 #1393451Just seen your last post Jac, we were obviously typing up at the same time. At least we know
where we stand now. I don’t think much damage has been done, still loads of races to come and
we can catch up with the transfers
January 24, 2019 at 15:36 #1393456Hello again
Last year I think there was three separate leagues run by Godolphin.
Not quite sure what the schedule for 2019 is, but they do normally
give plenty of thinking time to make entry. Best advice is to check
on web site after March 9th 2019 for details. Many thanks
JohnJanuary 24, 2019 at 16:02 #1393468Cheers John, I think that’s good advice, I’ll check after this compy finishes to see
what’s on offer. No bonus points for me with the bonus race, I had Art Du Val down for 2nd and Astihdaaf
down for 3rd. I stuck that on in the early hours, I should have waited til later this
morning, I may well have moved Astihdaaf up to 2nd with Art Du val missing and you don’t
have the option to change selection. It doesn’t make it any better for me when I had put
this up earlier……..I’m not convinced they will have it their own
way and have a bit of a notion for Manguzi. He looks to have won his maiden at Jebel Ali well,
and last time was well ahead of the field, with the exception of the winner, Walking Thunder, who
looks like he could be a bit special winning all his 3 races without having to be exerted.I didn’t have a bean on him, D’oh!
