Saw the odds on oddschecker last night, Ukraine are 5/4, that should literally be 1/20. If anyone has a spare million they could lend me for this all in job of the century.
April 8, 2022 at 14:43 #1592044I’ve got a pretty green book with Sweden as my jackpot. Italy, Greece, Norway, Netherlands and France also make up decent winners.
I’ve left Ukraine as a loser although not a killer. My son is a Eurovision expert and he says the Ukraine song is not a winner. I’m pretty convinced they can’t lose either Ben but happy to take the inflated prices of some others.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 8, 2022 at 14:55 #1592054Yeah that’s fair Nathan, backing evens shots is a dangerous game anyway so best to leave if they’re that short unless you can afford to lose the good chunk of money it’d take to win anything worthwile.
Best of luck with your bets Nathan, nice that you have so many running for you!
April 8, 2022 at 14:58 #1592057Cheers Ben
its not something I take much interest in however it is my son’s favourite hobby so a few bets does help keep me awake on the nightGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 8, 2022 at 19:05 #1592146Allowing Australia into Eurovision killed my interest in it.
Not really. I never had any interest in it.
April 13, 2022 at 12:19 #1593396As ever, I’ve been building a view since the first song was revealed (Czech Republic in December, as a matter of record). Think Ukraine are one of the weakest favourites I can remember. The song will likely win the public vote, but if you are taking the current price you are betting on a sufficiently strong jury performance as well.
Italy should be the bet. Song will be very strong with the juries, even if getting it under 3 minutes will be a challenge. People say you can never win Eurovision 2 years in a row (this wasn’t the case during the 1990s and quite frankly few countries have returned with something of a winning calibre). Thanks to Sanremo, Italy have one of the most competitive processes for selecting their Eurovision entry (see Sweden with Melodifestivalen as well) and its not a conincidence these countries are regularly in contention.
The United Kingdom is an ok song, elevated by one of the strongest vocalists in the competition. The live performance should be good and we have a contender for the left side of the scoreboard. I don’t think it’s quite winning material, and the current price wouldn’t strike me as a bet.
Netherlands are currently 85 on Betfair. That’s probably worth a saver, strong jury song which will have supporters. Quite melancholic, comments that can also be applied to Portugal which may split the votes between them. Think they’ll be interesting once a Top 5 market is out.
I can’t see any conceivable circumstance where Norway win. Expect the song to struggle badly with juries, and it might be a mess with live vocals. Indeed, if any of the market principles were to miss out on the final I’d say they’d be at risk.
At the moment, though, I’d just lump on Italy.

999 years out of a thousand I would defer to your son’s no-doubt excellent Eurovision judgement.
And I am sure if he says it’s a lousy song, it’s a lousy song.
But even if so, it’s a winning lousy song, trust me on this.

I hate it when the sympathy vote comes into play
Ukraine are only a half loser for me as I got on them early enough and will take it as it is if they win but their shortness has opened up the market elsewhereGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

April 13, 2022 at 13:45 #1593414The notable thing about Ukraine’s entry is that the song didn’t even win the Ukrainian final! The winning artist got booted out for lying about her travel history in Crimea.

You’ve created history there, Chezza. Nobody has ever said that in relation to Eurovision.
Ever.

Who’s representing us?
Know I say this every year, but they’re really missing a trick by not getting Millwall fan club in.Value Is EverythingApril 13, 2022 at 17:01 #1593455“Who’s representing us?”
Is Katie Price banged up or is she proudly representing these bellicose Isles?

April 13, 2022 at 17:27 #1593460Maybe she will do a duet with Katie Hopkins – they could call themselves the KK Clan.
Possibly not one of my better ideas?
