Yeah the Europeans are wasting their time…..a 1-2!!!
October 26, 2008 at 03:57 #186494Nice quinella!
Raven’s Pass has beaten Henrythenavigator!
October 26, 2008 at 03:58 #186495You have to think how good Ravens Pass is now that he has beaten the best in the world US horses.
October 26, 2008 at 03:58 #186496Typical – Yanks go to Curlin first instead of the winner.
October 26, 2008 at 03:59 #186497Hope you all got on there at the US odds!

Great run by my boy Henry there. Really thought he was coming from a winning run and only slightly had a gap closed on him coming off the turn.
Brilliant race – that New Approach/Henry/Ravens form that has been prominent throughout the season has now been franked as some of the best in the world now surely?
The big burning question though – would New Approach have won that? I have a feeling he may have just nicked it…
Big sad that Jimmy Fortune had to watch that from over here. He deserved the chance
October 26, 2008 at 03:59 #186498I told you it would be a great day for Frankie!!

He rode a great race, didn’t he? Stalked Curlin and Raven had far too much power for Henry in the straight, who also ran a great race.
October 26, 2008 at 04:01 #186500Who came 2nd and 3rd? ? ?
I was too busy watching Ravens Pass.
October 26, 2008 at 04:02 #186501What a performance. He thoroughly deserves it after his efforts in the top races over here this summer, super horse.

I shook you out of that ‘tempting fate’ thing you know

I tempted fate myself! Being beaten by Ravens Pass once again
October 26, 2008 at 04:03 #186503Did Johnny Murtagh leave his brain at Dublin airport? Anyone watching this meeting could see that you need to be the last to challenge, preferably on the outside, yet he rides the Turf and the Classic aggressively hitting the front far too soon. Not really pocket talk as the Classic was a good result, but brain dead riding.

Henry 2nd, Tiago 3rd
Curlin 4thThank you!!!
October 26, 2008 at 04:06 #186506Great ride, stalked Curlin and came down the middle like all the winners tonight (rather than chase the pace like the Coolmore horses).
Still I’m sure it was the surface that beat Curlin rather than the lack of steroids
October 26, 2008 at 04:07 #186507great; I backed Tiago ew..I thought Curlin was 3rd…,
October 26, 2008 at 04:08 #186509A fantastic performance by Raven’s Pass, and full marks to Gosden for having faith in the horse’s stamina (which I didn’t).
Is he going to stay in training next year, does anybody know?
Also glad to see Tiago sneak third!

Thanks, HTH!!

The problem is I backed Sixties Icon and Red Rocks!!
I called Raven’s win to near perfection on page 3 (sorry to blow my own trumpet), but sided with Curlin on the day.
Another, D’OH!!
Congrats to all who supported Raven!!
