I know I’m like a broken record but this is all set for Henry. He’s been touted for this race since winning at Goodwood, he’s been trained in preperation for this – Ascot and the Moulin were inbetween races in all honesty.
If AOB believed that Henry could get 1m4f at Epsom then he must surely be quietly confident he’ll get the trip tonight. His dirt/polytrack strides are pretty good from what I’ve heard and he does indeed have a superb turn of foot when it’s needed.
Local jockey on board who knows how to ride in the American races and will be able to get Henry in the best possible position.
Henry’s had his trademark month break. He runs much better with at least a month between races (Moulin and Ascot were too close together)
The fact that Henry is the only horse on single-figures on Betfair other than Curlin backs up my feelings on this one. For me, if he wins it’ll top off the flat racing season. I’ve followed Henry and Spanish Moon all season and whilst Spanish Moon let me down (he wouldve won today if he went in the stalls – without a doubt), I really think Henry can sign off in style.
Go on Henry!
October 25, 2008 at 21:52 #186412Why the hell is Duke Of Marmalade 10 & 12/1?
Win lose or draw those prices are crazy he should be half the price.
Gingertipster you are a value man surely you’ve backed this horse??
Totally agree with you Ian, I have backed Raven’s Pass and Duke Of Marmalade both at 12/1 with savers on Curlin 5/2, Colonel John 12/1 and Champs Eleysees 33/1.
I said on the previous page I prefer Henry to Dukey but not at those prices.
Duke Of Marmalade is probably over the top judged on the Arc run. But at 12/1 I think he is worth the risk. Though Raven’s is the main bet because I do not like it when Ladbrokes are top price an O’Brien horse. Mike Dillon often seems to have the inside info on the Coolmore team.I’d say he should be around 8/1.

How do you get American tote prices? They aren’t on Bet365
October 26, 2008 at 03:43 #186482I don’t see it on their site actually
Paddy Power offer SP which is settled at PMU odds – maybe Bet365 is the same
October 26, 2008 at 03:47 #186484Anticipating a great race…
Dammit, I wish I was there!!

Thats the price I’ve been advised to go on. The PP PMU one. It’s settled at the American tote.
Henry’s now 19’s over there but thats still a ridiculously big price if you ask me. Ladbrokes still bigger than anyone else in the world on the Duke
October 26, 2008 at 03:48 #186486for once i’m hoping an american horse wins!
October 26, 2008 at 03:49 #186487I think O’Brien’s stable form is being over-stated – all of his runners have had excuses:
Heart-Shaped – just pipped at the post
Halfway To Heaven – "stole" 2 Gr1s in UK and was overrated as a result
Soldier of Fortune – not suited by ground
US Ranger – constantly disappointed even when stable in-form
Westphalia – ran very wellI’m prepared to give Duke of Marmalade a shout here – doesn’t really get 12f so I’m prepared to forgive the Arc run and I think he’ll go very close.
October 26, 2008 at 03:56 #186488Well done, Raven!!

October 26, 2008 at 03:57 #186491That was easy. True champ. The best in the world. AT LAST!!
October 26, 2008 at 03:57 #186492Frankie has ridden a fantastic race on Ravens Pass there, just followed Curlin and then off the final bend, off he goes.
Well done Frankie, and what a good horse Ravens Pass has proven to be.
