Yes, but at least it’s looking good for the Caulfield Cup next weekend, he’s now third favourite, I wouldn’t have given him a chance previously.

Aidan has won 23 G1s, but he has also had the runner-up in 20 G1s (in 8 of those he also had the winner).

He’ll do well to get one G1 this weekend, with the ground gone against most of his horses. Though I think Caravaggio will be one who will relish it, and Churchill will be OK if it gets no worse than soft. But his best chance of the weekend could be in Oz.

To be honest I don’t think he will have a winner at Ascot. Does that make it tight or are there a good few opportunities left?

Agree with you both in him not getting a winner also at Ascot.

After this it’s Doncaster and two 2YO races in France, then that’s it in Europe. After that Australia, Breeders Cup, Hong Kong and Japan.

Johannesburg vermeer a wee bit unlucky and didn’t get the breaks. I think aiden will have a winner at Ascot but it will be in the group 2. I really think carravagio will go close as will hydrangea but cliff’s of moher has a big one in him but think not on this ground.

Here we go botchy. I actually celebrated a bit prematurely – thought the Long Distance was a G1 as well!

Superb. What a trainer. People say we go on too much about him but as Kevin blake said in his blog when he finally finishes his career he will be recognised as the greatest horse trainer that has ever trained horses. Yes he has the ammunition but his training of hydrangea, roll poly, order of St George and even music box are amazing training feats. And all done when he doesn’t decide where they run. He is a genius with horses.

If he were to win it, he would be the first trainer to regain the record. Because Bobby Frankel actually took the record from him when he won it.

Will surely beat that in the breeders Cup. He ran a cracking trial for it and he must be in the first two or three surely. What an amazing horse he is. Like the great St Nicholas Abbey has incredible durability and even on a surface he hated ran a cracker. Always been one of my faves.
