Bobby Frankel’s 26 Group/Grade One wins in a season is the current record.

Think the record could be under threat. With Churchill Caravaggio order of the garter plus a few very promising 3 yr olds plus minding, seventh heaven, order of stgeorge somehow plus Idaho and highland reel.

I’ve just added this to Coral’s racing specials. The record is 25, so O’Brien needs 26 to break it outright.

    We’re offering 3/1.

Just got £50 on @ 10’s with WH  Make that £100  Correction £150

Lost Soldier that was not meant to be a reflection on your price, which seems quite fair and realistic.

Just joined you with the max bet on that, botchy. Good spot.

I thought 3/1 wasn’t especially defensive – he wasn’t far away last year and has a stronger all-round team this time, especially with the older fillies and 3yo colts. Stronger in the all age sprints this year thanks to Caravaggio too.

Thanks also to you, i thought i would have a look around first after you mentioned your price earlier.

I’m not one for putting £100 on a bet in one go to be honest with you, but in the last week i have done it twice now

At least that one will last longer than a 5 furlong sprint i suppose ;-)

Weekend has 3 G1 races with runners

    French 1000 Guineas

    Roly Poly
    Rain Goddess
    Smoulder

    French 2000 Guineas

    Order of the Garter
    Peace Envoy

    Prix Alary

    Asking

No wins over the weekend. 24 needed

Good to see Acapulco win well, hopefully with Caravaggio they can get a few between them in the sprinting division compared to past years.

It is going to be a tall order. Not too sure that he has an Epsom Derby winner. Might get the Irish Derby and Grand Prix De Paris if he was to go looking for it. Normally goes looking for the French Derby. Bound to win at least 2 Group 1s from the Belmont and Arlington mid summer meetings. Churchill , if he stays at a mile might clean up with the Irish and St James Stakes, and maybe try something like a Eclipse (or just continue with mile races like QEII) Minding may well win one or two Group 1s but ought to try against the boys where she will get some weight allowance as oppose to running against her own sex, not to mention more money in the lads races (Lockinge, Queen Anne, Sussex) His record in the Irish Champion Stakes in recent years and being a bit hit and miss and brutal , win wise, in the British CS. While OSG was only out for a prep run last time, he may have a tougher Gold Cup this year, a few nice stayers there.Would be extremely surprised if Highland Reel still has the legs and tank to keep going.

If he was to break Frankel’s record it would be a much better achievement because in doing so he would have to win Group 1s in at least 3-4 (even 5) different countries to do so.Frankel won at least 9 of his at Belmont Track and 5 at Santa Anita and 1 at the track almost next door to it.Despite the domination…….no Breeders Cup that year.

TO, of course it is a tall order without a doubt, but certainly possible especially especially with 160+ 2 year olds this year. To be fair they don’t really get going till after Royal Ascot.

I would say if they have over 6 on the board by the end of June it could get quite close, and they will certainly be knocking up a few air miles this year. The Weld filly showed at the weekend that the US G1 races are certainly within reach.

Aidan has been proving that for over a decade. Surprised the likes of Gosden did not often send over a horse during Belmont or Arlington. Likewise Godolpin . American turf racing at 10-12 furlongs is poor, and most of the jockeys are clueless on turf

    How are you feeling Botchy?

I know AOB hasn’t ‘missed’ any G1s he was expected to win so far, but we’ll need him to pick up a few bonuses along the way to make this happen. I was hoping he might take a cheeky Lockinge or French Guineas to help us along.

LostSolier, 3 Group ones this week, the following week 3 Group ones and Royal Ascot with 8. Currently with 12 of the AP favorites out of the 14 Group 1’s.

Anything more than four would be a big bonus.

I had Caravaggio down as a 50/50 to be honest, but it looks like he should get one at least this year. :good:
