From watching AOB’s interview with Matt Chapman on ATR, AOB has minimal awareness or even interest in records and stats.
The Ballydoyle approach according to this interview is to do the best they can with each horse as an individual eg horses end up in the same races on their individual merit, which for me makes the multiple entry factor in these stats a bit more acceptable until I recall ‘team tactic’ issues or the occasions when horses aren’t running strictly on their merits.
As we know AOB is obsessively guarded despite appearing to be accessible to the media and he doesn’t give away much or any personal insight,so appearing to enjoy being a world record holder was never going to happen.
Perfectly possible that in footage that we hadnt seen Chapman’s over familiar style had caused AOB to clam up but in a truly weird way the most revealing part of the interview was AOB’s awkward total inability or unwillingness to respond to Chapman asking him what his favourite food was.
If AOB enjoys his achievements then it is in a way that he isn’t able to share with the racing public.Fair enough.
