Eklat De Rire 20-1 (ish, haven’t shopped around) for me, fell when in contention of the RSA last year and the horse pulled clear of Monkfish in the final stages having jumped all the remaining jumps, granted there was no jockey on the horses back but the horse seemed to stay very impressively up the hill, I’d imagine he’s been trained with this race in mind all season and could be a real class act in the field if he gets the trip.

March 11, 2022 at 20:48 #1586544Gordon Elliott’s throw of the dice to get Samcro qualifies looks to be Down Royal’s 3m 2f Chase next Thrusday March 17th. Only 11 entries and Samcro qualifies if he gets in the first 4.
March 15, 2022 at 21:59 #15874045 runners at Down Royal so looks like a penalty kick for Samcro to qualify. Not exactly Elsich, but it’s a softy way of qualifying.

Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
March 16, 2022 at 16:47 #1587745Delta Work as low as 12’s and no bigger than 20’s now. He’ll do well to come back after such a tough race.
March 16, 2022 at 17:45 #1587784Agreed Peter, technically that run gives him a chance, but how much as it taken out of him. While we wait for Gordon to make a decision it’s price could crash.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.March 16, 2022 at 18:18 #1587811Agreed, been noticeable over the years how many fail to show their form at Aintree if their Cheltenham race was on heavy ground, let alone having a protracted battle like Delta Work had.
Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2022 at 20:32 #1587874Delta work has weight alloted of 11st 3lbs so if any of the above come out next forfeit it will increase

March 17, 2022 at 12:02 #1588000Looking at a rerun of last night’s Glenfarclas Chase the was plenty of turns meaning they couldn’t build any speed. Doing an average between 20 to 25 miles per hour, only when they turned into the home straight was they able to go at racing pace. On the National course they will go a lot faster and probably on better ground. Having said that Tiger Roll took the same route when winning both his Nationals and back then the ground was soft

Don't mess with mister in between.March 17, 2022 at 12:21 #1588011Is Delta Work as well treated as Tiger Roll was both times he won? You can’t rule him out given his classy background, he is the right age, and the manner which he stayed on yesterday, but he won’t be running on such favourable terms next month.
March 17, 2022 at 17:31 #1588269Samcro now eligible for the National after his third place at Down Royal today.
March 18, 2022 at 10:11 #1588415Will he be the big money sale in the days leading up?
March 18, 2022 at 10:18 #1588417It was a sad sight yesterday. A horse who was touted as the next great superstar slogging around Down Royal during Cheltenham week, just to qualify for a race he almost certainly has no chance of winning.
March 18, 2022 at 10:33 #1588425Oh well, he’ll be useful to block up a place to give connections one less rival. He can pull up then go round Fairyhouse a week later to fulfil the same function then get flogged off at Doncaster in the autumn with a broken wind and a broken heart.
March 18, 2022 at 12:11 #1588447I hope not but agree it is very likely to happen, Green. What a nice way it would be to treat a two time Cheltenham Grade 1 winner.
