Who wouldn’t want 1st and 2nd in the 2000 Guineas Mike and he could net the 1000 also on Sunday with Wild Beauty…bring it on.

April 28, 2022 at 11:52 #1595944Coroebus drawn 1 native trail drawn 15
If there’s a track bias this weekend one of them will be in a terrible position
April 28, 2022 at 12:47 #1595948Can see an outsider win the race. Has all the hallmarks of night of thunders win. The fact that there’s 15 declared shows many trainers fancy their chances too. Point Lonsdale ew for me.
April 28, 2022 at 13:11 #1595954Oasis Dream has never sired a Guineas winner so there is hope for us outsider backers.
April 28, 2022 at 19:54 #1596006As a winner of the July Cup and the Nunthorpe, Oasis Dream wouldn’t scream “stamina” at you.
But he’s sired Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Power and Midday, triple winner of the 1m2f Nassau Stakes, and winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, Yorkshire Oaks and Prix Vermeille, all at 1m4f.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 29, 2022 at 07:45 #1596038I’d be worried about that draw for Coreobus, depends on what they do but I can see them coming nearside (high) and him ending up exposed on the wing pulling his brains out with no cover. Its a shame because I’ve seen the F word banded around here in regards to Native Trail but for me its his stablemate who has the wow factor but with a large dose of pear shaped potential.
I like Luxembourg a lot and can’t find anything to crab him with, he was dossing in front in the G1 at Doncaster and has done nothing wrong so far. 5/1 about an unbeaten Aidan O’Brien classic prospect is mindboggling frankly. Hes an each way to nothing with the extra places most are offering if you are that way inclined. Saying that Point Lonsdale really looked the wrong price to me and most will look at the run against Native Trail and say he can’t win. He was odds on that day don’t forget and he didn’t look right to me, the fact he couldn’t outstay Ebro River who I didnt think stayed suggested as much. For a full brother of Broome who went so close in a Derby to be doing what he did over 7F promises much more over further as a 3YO. I think Native Trail is good but may join the band who were simply head and shoulders above at 2 and the others catch up at 3. I have to take him on at the prices as good as he looked at 2 and as beautiful a horse he is physically as I think there could be a few G1 horses in here.
April 29, 2022 at 08:48 #1596046Been watching racing since the 1970s and seen a fair few Guineas hotpots floored.
Try My Best, Ajdal and Pinatubo spring to mind.
But I’ve seen a fair few hose up – El Gran Senor, Dancing Brave, Zafonic, George Washington, and Frankel, for example.
It’s easy with hindsight, but Try My Best had won one of the slowest Dewhursts in years at the time and Pinatubo was a bit pint-sized and was never as good at three as when a precocious 2yo.
Native Trail is a physically-imposing individual.
And for me he’s done it on the clock, beating standard in the Craven.
The others might catch up with him physically later in the year.
But the 2,000 Guineas isn’t run later in the year.
It’s tomorrow.
In some senses, as his trainer and tradition says, it’s the last 2yo race of last season.
Native Trail will be trained to run the race of his life.
I don’t think he’s a great like Frankel.
But I do think he’s worth his OR of 122 and might even be able to run to 125.
Historically, that would make him the winner of many a 2,000 Guineas hence hard to beat here.
Perfect Power is a rapid colt who will go well if he truly stays.
Luxembourg will stay, but this is the fastest he will ever have had to travel and a top-four finish would be a cracking Derby trial.
Ditto Point Lonsdale.
Coroebus is a talented headbanger I reckon they’ve had problems with and not for me.
No sitting on the fence here!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"April 29, 2022 at 10:46 #1596054Coroebus looks like 7f is his limit, and maybe a sprinter?? Saying that, he’ll probably go and win.
Native Trail has looked impressive, and providing his brief ‘flat spot’ doesn’t inconvenience him I think he should win. And I agree about Luxembourg, looks more like a Derby horse, and will be staying on…..
April 29, 2022 at 11:16 #1596057Loads of hotpots get beat for whatever reason. My main concern is the craven form not amounting to much. A three length win over a maiden winner isn’t classic form. Plus we’ve no idea how the O’brien pair are fully tuned up for the race. I’d expect both be better over longer trips. Native trail showed he’d trained on but well find out tomorrow how much others have come forward. Native trail could scoot up and the obrien pair third and fourth staying on. I get the vibe they are expecting a big run from point Lonsdale so if he’s punted on late that could be a sign.
April 29, 2022 at 11:34 #1596058At the back of my mind I keep thinking no Craven Stakes Winner has won the Guineas since Haafhd in 2004 but has there ever been a horse that is on the tip of everyone’s lips to run in this race since Frankel and I’m not saying that Native Trail is the next coming but he is an exceptional horse almost a freak of nature. He will win tomorrow the question is by how far?
When Needleleaf foaled him he was so big his breeders feared that he would grow as big as a Hunter and then he went for his breeze up and nobody was surprised when Godolphin snapped him up. He has to be something special and we’ll find out tomorrow.
