Thanks Lee, did you complain to the hotel manager? <br>Only joking, he’s great Simon.<br>I’m in the north but was flicking through the sky channels a few weeks ago and saw you presenting some sport on one of the local BBC regions down south, think it may have been Southampton or Brighton.
Welcome Lee, how long have you been commentating? It must be getting on for 20 years, you don’t look old enough.<br>I would have thought the Radio 5 commentating job was a good one, was it a case of job satisfaction that made you leave?
Mottershead did some but the guy who did Fill The Bunker’s race had a horrible grating voice, nearly as bad as Andy Orkney’s. Chapman’s efforts were littered with errors, failed to say what happened to Benefit Fund and Najca De Thaix and got the last race winner mixed up with Hardybuck amongst many.<br>At least With John Hickman being the missing commentator we didn’t lose out too much.
Does anyone care these days? It used to have great significance and was compulsory viewing (so I’m told)
They had to omit a hurdle out in the country in the last and it was an half – hearted effort from the flagman on the inside of the rails, why aren’t they on the track?
What’s wrong with using the carpet Cheltenham will be putting down?
I think they should still have someone stood in front of the hurdle waving a flag as back up, after all there are injured jockeys on the other side.
Arumun walked through the last ditch and it had no effect on him, they definitely look smaller.<br>Will they still be put up as some of the best fences in the country?
Good stuff Sal, shows what I know about breeding:(<br>I was thinking of the Teofilo link and thought they might go for that.

He has subsequently been raised just 4 pounds for that, depsite the fact that beat what looks a potential Group 2 + horse in Al Qasi.<br>
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, Al Qasi has shown substantial improvement in two races since Gold Express beat him a short head in a nursery. Whatever handicappers may be I don’t think any of them are psychic.
Any news on the stallion she’s going to? Galileo maybe?

it’s obvious to anyone that he cannot improve(exceed his best previous rating) at his age on turf or AW.
What is his best previous rating Artemis?
He’s hardly an OAP at only 7 surely. Isn’t there a suitable 0-90 2 miler at Newmarket at the end of the month ap?

The handicappers job, in theory, is to rate all horses in such a way that they all have the same winning chance. In reality the mindset seems to be to try to stop any of them winning.<br>
Don’t both things equal the same cormack? as long as all horses are treated the same.<br>If the theory is to have all horses finish in a line, how could horses well beaten by Salute at Wolves be expected to do that with him if he remained on the same mark?
I agree with Glenn and think the handicappers do an excellent job. Why shouldn’t Salute go up for just being beaten by an improving 3yo, what about all the horses who finished behind Salute?
Well done everyone, it was a terrific run.<br>Who actually owns the horse?
I would think next year was the important time for this horse and they thought it beneficial to get some experience into him this year, I didn’t see any act of desperation in Frankie’s riding, why would there be? 9.7 million to them is probably equivalent to us having a quid on the lottery.
Should come on for the run, Frankie didn’t knock him about.
