Got me so confused , Bellshill then Shaneshill that I completely missed the the run across towards the approach to take them towards the last before the turn into the approach towards the two before the turn into the straight
Luck was on his side but it’s well deserved , 1000 is up
Sad, sad news , another taken far too early, RIP
Why can’t somebody give him three decent rides and let him hit the target ? I hate seeing him on no hopers still trying to get the 1000
Just announced McCoy joins the ITV team
Put my stable in , good luck everyone
It will be interesting to see what happens when we finally get a period of rain and the ground softens, if the races are oversubscribed or whether fields are still small.
I’d imagine it would be the 3m chase on the Cheltenham Saturday next then, but it will probably turn into an egg and spoon race with a couple of runners as nothing else will want to oppose.
At least it gets a sighter of the Cheltenham fences if nothing else and with a lot of the opposition fragile it makes sense to at least think of the Gold Cup and as they said earlier better to try then wonder what might have been.
Wouldn’t take 11/2 though !
Another course ticked off yesterday at Carlisle. Long journey there and back in a day from Brighton but achievable with a 0530 start getting home at 2345.
Arrived at 1150 from Euston, found a Ladbrokes round the corner from the station to do a place pot and a football bet and also a nice chip shop nearby, could have ate in but spotted some benches near a castle sort of thing opposite so that there and had lunch.
Wandered up to the bus station as there was a 1240 bus which was easy to spot and £1.60 fare, about a 20 minute journey to the course, bus returned at 5 minutes after the last race and 30 minutes but that may be a bit off as it is the same bus doing another trip.
Admission was £17 plus £3 for a race card and only one enclosure so could walk around anywhere. I found viewing a bit disappointing from any place I tried, a lot of the course invisible to the eye due to the dip and for me about only half the course easy to see. A big screen showed it all but I prefer using binoculars and it was hard to really watch races that way.
Pint of lager was £4.30 and no wait for service and as it was a small crowd there plenty of seats and tables to sit, food such as fish and chips was about £6 and seemed popular.
I left after the 5th race to make sure I got back to the station in plenty of time , taxis wait outside and I ended up sharing one with three others back and so only cost £2 each.
Not a bad course but spoilt by the poor viewing.
Hopefully he is on the mend now
Jesus H Christ, shouty know all now.

Being nice and friendly is not part of the job description for a course commentator, being accurate with your calls is and Cattermole has long lost it.
The commentator roster could do with a shake up completely as some of the so called top callers seem to be resting on their laurels these daysSeptember 28, 2016 at 17:46 in reply to: Gigginstown Remove All their horses from Willie Mullins #1265008At least it will make Cheltenham a bit easier with not so much guessing about Mullin’s plans
No mention of Malcolm ‘Blasting home’ Tomlinson, would have thought the Poldark connection might have got him mentioned to ITV as the commentator
I think at some point people have to take responsibility for their own actions, whether it be gambling, drugs or alcohol.
There is enough organisations out there now that can be used for help and if you fail to utilise them and continue to self destruct then that has to be your fault.
I wonder if the ITV commentator will be someone who is not on the current commentators roster and will also be used for other sports ?
If Hunt was offered the job it means that Holt and Hoiles were not wanted.Interesting that online gambling with no limits is never mentioned, surely that is far more destructive than FOBT’s in shops ?
