I am pleased someone started this thread, as my immediate reaction yesterday was "why was a horse that had done so much for the owners been sold" ??

Surely Silver Birch had earned the owners enough money to keep it in carrots in retirement, if it did have heart trouble and bad legs as has been stated in the Press.

Makes a mockery of all these phrases that are churned out by owners…"that they will be looking after the horse"…not in this case.

Pleased as punch for the Irish connections…I hope Silver Birch manages to win again for them.

I would say that if you use the Racing Post.. only use them …or if The Sporting Life…do not deviate between the 2.

The same for Standard Times…use one set and do not tinker about with them to fit your purpose.

I like the chances of Head on the Ground, ran a good time at Cheltenham. Was a good effort behind Spot the Difference in December.

To be fair to Tommo, I think it was Wolverhampton last week, and he called a race home, where it was a blanket finish 5 horses.  He called all five in the correct order.  Well done Tommo…let’s give praise where it is due.

My point in objecting to renewing my membership of Racing UK, is that I paid £200 and within 2 months the subscription had dropped.

I was offered nothing in compensation.

If I had paid monthly, I would have had my monthly subscription reduced.

Any fool who paid the full year upfront got nothing.  I believe that the Management of RUK are not at all bothered about their subscribers.  I wrote to them and received no reply at all.

Today another ‘free to air ‘ programme.  It just makes my blood boil – that I paid for the service and it is then put out "free"  for anyone to view.  Breeders Cup night was exactly the same…"free to air".

I am not sure I will be renewing my subscripton in February….it really bugs me that they make it "Free to Air" on certain days.  Today between 4 – 7 you can see highlights of the racing.

Also I paid £200 and then the subscription was reduced and nothing was offered regarding a refund, or reduction on the next year’s payment.

If I am perfectly honest over Christmas I watched ATR and enjoyed all the Irish racing.

    Sorry for going on

Best wishes and hope you pick a few winners.

I don’t know why I feel like this…but I can’t help thinking that Kauto Star isn’t Paul Nichols Gold Cup horse…just my opinion of course.

In my experience the horses do not come back properly from an injury…they are never the same again.
