esc
on the flat in large fields where the draw can be either high or low (such as ascot) it can pay to back one each side of track

wouldnt recommend backing 2 in same race as a regular policy though but there again i dont back ew either
it may not have been impressive today but it was a trip on the short side for llt whom should improve for a return to 3m+ hardly a great test for him on paper and with bellator refusing and upgrade performence he didnt really have much to do .

the connections will i suppose be anxious to see how he is tommorrow and all (hopefully) being well he will go to newbury where we can find whether he truly has retained his full ability

the stats say he has a very hard task to win the gc again i just wonder if the fact the fp not staying up the hill in the gc made him look better than he is.

sunybay sorry u are correct it was rainbow quest in the dewhurst

smithy gossemar a well chosen name yes (maybe even better than bint salisibal et al) but it just dosnt appeal to me no other reason
suny

i know el gran senor beat rainbow quest in the irish derby u may be right though about the dewhurst i will check when i am home tonight but i think it was not rainbow in the dewhurst i agree he was a great horse but i think eddery was responsible for the loss not only from seeing the race but later i read roche autobiography he says he was riding for second place when el gran went by but eddery riding gave him the encouragement to have another go (not word for word)

shoukld be a good race between sakhee and banks hill worth traveling for

yes gossemer is the one i meant (awful name ) i thought quarter moon and 2 of cecils were quite promising of course they may not train on but there is hope

wonder how cecil will fare next year

in my opinion both 2000/2001 were both very good years (looking at the horses aiden/daylight have mentioned) .

banks hill will i think be very good next year as long as she gets her ground.

re johanesburg i presume he will go to the kentuckey derby next year so if he winsor places in that will he race over there next year??

the fillys may be stronger next year with quarter moon queens logic revealing and cumanis horse (the name escapes me).
mh el gran senor was very impressive as a two year old especially his dewhurst performence beating a harwood horse ela man mou i think cruised home should have remained unbeaten if u ask me eddery gave it the most appalling ride in the derby

    escorial

although we differ somewhat on what galileo beat your remarks about what he beat and benchmarks can be directed at others
for example what did inthikab beat in the queen anne a grp 2 race not a lot really and got beaten by a lower rated horse on his return

why does the winning of a grp 3 diamond stakes (a shadow of its formerself) and a weak grp 2 rate so highly

what exactly did dubai millenium beat behrens (on the decline and well beaten througout the rest of the seasoin) sumitas (never won a group race ) beat all (never won a group race)

why doies the beating of 2 horses whom had not won above listed class rate so highly

i am sure if u we were on the forum then u would be tearing into the form

a little more consistency could be called for admittidly the person (s) who made dm or intikabs rating may not be the same person (s) whom made this years ratings

not that i am saying galileo has been under rated but more consistency in the matter could be used.

interesting points made by the rp international handicapper on the last page in rp today re tiznows rating for example
well dont quote me but i think it was the 10f oaks trial at newbury if u can remember the year i will try and look it up in an old form book out of interest as when i first saw your pan handle on the forum i recalled the race for some reason (from memory piggot actually only ever rode a few horses for balding not that i remember his whole career)
robbo as u probably are aware from prior postings i like escorial am not keen to say the very least on all weather racing

but you are correct re claiming races in the uk it is not considered a gentmanly attitude for one trainer to claim a horse from another i believe mr pipe has upset a few of the old guard brigade doing this in the past silly really.
yes luke
a big big doubt over what dm actually achieved at the age of three or four.

re dettori comment what else could he say not exactly the best way to keep a well paid job by disagreeing with the boss in public.

the last famous jockey whom made a comment about a horse he rode that disagreed with his principals opinion was soon shown the door inspite of the grp 1 success he had given them.

suny bay are you the suny bay from other forum?? hallo if you are montjeu v dm 4lb difference give me montjeau anytime.

i am afraid sheik mcraght has been losing a bit of his objectivity lately
montelado

i second your opinion as numerous others will he is a very petty man to dismiss without giving reason

timeform has lost much of its impartial objectivity over the years its become more of an advertisment agency than a form ratings organistion coincidentally some may say with mr mcgraths hands on the rudder
