Mack The Man has been retired by Nick Alexander
He won over £100k in prize money.
He will be living with one of Nicks staff.
I tuned in at 9pm to listen to his last ever commentary.
And it was Ian Bartlett behind the mike

Sean D Bowen was champion apprentice last season.
I was privileged enough to be at Perth the last three days. I actually turned to a fellow race goer today and said that we were watching a masterclass.
Not many jockeys beat Skelton in a driving finish but Sean did that yesterday on Rambo T. In the first race today he was so cool when two horses went past him on the home turn. many others would have panicked in the same situation and then he lifts Fairlawn Flyer home in the big race.
I believe he rode his hundredth winner for Olly Murphy this campaign today.
Bryony ruled out of the ride on Stay Away Fay as she is required to ride the double green horses in France.
As far as I can see there are only two run of the mill races at Nancy on Saturday. Surely they could have let her go.
35 runs in 22 months(7 wins) with David Pipe.
10 runs in 15 months(5 wins) under the Bewleys training.
Must think he is on holiday.
Did Alice just say that this was the first all the way winner this week?!?
I know she was off on tuesday(I preferred the coverage) but was she not watching on tv when Myretown did the same?
The full race replay is on the Attheraces website.
No bleeps. The commentator gives the horses name the correct pronunciation.
Awful
I hope that racing was a passion of Michael’s and not just a job. At least that way he will have died doing something he loved.
I wish there was a way to take the danger out the sport. But there’s not.
He is entered in Ascots three mile handicap this Saturday as well.
Might not be soft enough for him there.
Ahoy Senor drifts from 9-2 to 8-1 in the last two minutes before the off and then runs a stinker

ITV are not covering the Berkshire National as it clashes with the Morgiana. The right decision but it’s a shame they couldn’t have put it elsewhere on the card so it gets the exposure the race deserves.
Has to have a crack at the November Handicap.
I certainly wouldn’t take it. It’s stealing.
I would have sympathy with Mr Banks, however I was reading about Dundee racecourse yesterday(opened 1924 closed 1925) and at one of their meetings several bookmakers left the course in a rush without paying out to punters.
Is 100 years too long to say swings and roundabouts?
The horse wasn’t legless. Even Doyle doesn’t claim the horse was knackered.
The “explanation” and the visual evidence.
