Thanks Marlingford. I heard vague reports about Energumene suggesting it wasn’t bad news but nothing on Galvin other than he walked into the ambulance.
March 13, 2025 at 00:46 #1723272As for Maura Higgins, I get why ITV have involved her in the hope she might draw in non-traditional racing viewers. However, the script they have given her indicates she has zero interest in racing, which seems a strange message to want to convey to the unconverted.
I can’t blame her for taking the job, but it all seems very misguided. At least when they used Chris Hughes, who had a similar reality TV background, he was actually interested in the sport.
March 13, 2025 at 09:23 #1723307The itv coverage has been so tedious and stating the obvious. Only Kevin Blake shows a touch of common sense in his explanations .They forget that most people watching probably are more knowledgeable than most of the pundits.
March 13, 2025 at 09:37 #1723317Positive update on opening show about Galvin. Was allowed to travel home, bandaged up and due to arrive back in next hour.
March 13, 2025 at 10:14 #1723333Thanks for the update Cmap, I am glad they followed up. Really hope it is nothing too serious.
March 13, 2025 at 10:23 #1723336I muted it when they had the fashion/ lifestyle segment; it seems every major festival has to include it nowadays. Royal Ascot was really the only meeting where it was deemed neccessary, and I could accept that, and didn’t have an issue with it.
It’s all a far cry from the Ch4/ BBC Festival coverage……
March 13, 2025 at 13:14 #1723401Don’t adjust your TV sets, the girl is actually orange.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 13, 2025 at 14:15 #1723450Did Alice just say that this was the first all the way winner this week?!?
I know she was off on tuesday(I preferred the coverage) but was she not watching on tv when Myretown did the same?
March 13, 2025 at 15:11 #1723487Ed’s in his element today milking all the sentimentality for all it’s worth.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 13, 2025 at 15:18 #1723493Sickening isn’t it RTB?
March 13, 2025 at 15:21 #1723496But it’s the way society is going: everything has to be “relatable” and there has to be a “human” aspect to every story.
The irony, when millionaires and billionaires are writing the narrative.
March 13, 2025 at 15:24 #1723497It is to me Tonge. I understand there have been some poignant moments this week and they warrant some inclusion but Ed takes it to another level.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 13, 2025 at 15:31 #1723511Yes RTB. There’s a difference between highlighting the moving aspects of the event and the mawkish wallowing which Ed seems to revel in.

Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
March 13, 2025 at 18:04 #1723600Unless the Cheltenham festival and St Patrick’s Day actually coincide with each other (which this year they don’t – by at least three days) do ITV and the racecourse really have to make such an embarrassing fuss over it in the preliminaries?
March 13, 2025 at 18:18 #1723603I agree because they won’t do it for St George’s day.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 13, 2025 at 18:26 #1723604Nobody does anything for poor old St George..the forgotten one.
David, Andrew and Pat all do well out of it..
