And I’m out all day at a wedding

The more I know the less I understand.
May 23, 2026 at 09:42 #1767260Watch it on your phone. Just make sure you have the sound on mute. 😎

May 23, 2026 at 14:52 #1767306Issues with Haydock and it is not looking promissing as they are looking to move back onto the course they used yesterday (after a whole was found on the new track with Friendly Soul almost coming down) but a jockey has now found a hole on the previously used track.
Abandonment looks the most likely.
May 23, 2026 at 14:57 #1767307They’re running the remaining races on the inner straight course. All races on the round course have been abandoned.
May 23, 2026 at 16:23 #1767317The hole they found on the other course swallowed the whole length of a walking stick and I did hear one of the presenters say part of the course sat on the old Haydock Colliery (coal mine).
Friendly Soul was extremely lucky not to be seriously injured considering how deep the hole was and I can only think that she didn’t land directly over it as she stumbled.
I know they had a lot of rain earlier last week but could that along with the over watering also have played a part in this issue?
May 23, 2026 at 16:47 #1767318Unfortunately for me Friendly Soul was my main bet of the day. It was looking good till it stuck its leg in a sink hole. Surely bets should be refunded in this instance? Also what a let down for those at Haydock today. It’s a meeting i normally attend but thankfully today I had other commitments.
May 23, 2026 at 19:47 #1767326Glad Friendly Soul was unharmed could been serious

May 31, 2026 at 15:07 #1767657Looked like they were presenting and commentating on the racing from Carlisle from an empty racecourse. Was it Kempton?
May 31, 2026 at 15:33 #1767658It’s pretty commendable how they are able to switch production though, even if it means they can’t always be at the right racecourse. They always manage to be at Kelso, something that previous channels never did to my knowledge ( happy to be corrected).
May 31, 2026 at 15:43 #1767659Is there a reason they couldn’t broadcast from the actual track? They had plenty of notice and I know it’s a bit further north than Haydock, no different to going up to Newcastle, Ayr or Musselburgh. As an aside could this meeting move permanently to Carlisle? Haydock doesn’t need to race 2 Saturdays in a row and despite a Grp 3 on the card it wasn’t the most prestigious of cards, could JCR mix things up a bit?

June 17, 2026 at 21:12 #1769363I never thought I would be moaning about lack of fashion coverage. I literally couldn’t give a toss but I know people who have zero interest in racing but watch Royal Ascot for the fashion. Unlikely any of them became racing fans but you never know. ITV fashion “experts” seem as disinterested in the actual fashion as I am, concentrating entirely on food & drink opportunities. 2nd time I have seen a plug for that wretched “scone-doughnut” combi. Wasn’t news-worthy first time round.
