I do not understand the ownership angle either. Horses are regularly registered under names that are not that real owners. Many for tax reasons, some for other reasons. I know of at least 4 horses currently in training who are not owned by the people the BHA/Weatherbys have as registered. Also from my own experience when I rang to register myself as an owner I was not asked to prove I legally owned the horse I said was mine, and I never have been, even though my horse was previously registered under another owner.
I also think that O’Dwyer has been a bit hard done by.
And although there were no phone records between the three didn’t mean there wasn’t any other kind of communication, although that can’t be proved as no evidence of any, how can they be used against them?
O’Dwyer going out with the daughter should be irrelevant as personal, and Jerry has been known as a bit of a ‘boy’ in the past with women so it would mean nothing who he was seeing at the time of the race.October 22, 2010 at 18:00 in reply to: Can you name these 3 racing personalities? please help #323909Bazza on the right definitely – would know those eyes anywhere.
Says the one on the left is a NH owner who owns a pub(s) – that must narrow it down a bit?
He is now kept in his own paddock at John Jenkins stables, where he takes pride of place and is enjoying a happy retirement.
Thank you so much Alan1 for that fabulous piece of news. So glad he is well and being looked after. Thank you again.
120 first year is a big book especially at that price. If he has no decent 2/3 year olds, he won’t keep commanding those numbers, if he lives that long as well, and his fertility lasts. Lot of variables.
Could take a few years and a lot of mares to recoup that sort of money, even if he wins a big race at the Breeders’ or Dubai meetings.
One day at the July course a few years ago, waiting for my ex to finish whatever it was he was pretending to do, Hayley Turner comes out of the weighing room obviously dressed up for a night at De Niros(!).
Pick that up or she’ll trip over it, says I.
Pick what up?
Your tongue. Thanks Matthew01 – typical of me to be behind several years behind with what’s going on!
Dettori wouldn’t go anywhere if he didn’t have to.
I was told last year, by a reliable source, that Littmoden was deliberately down sizing, so perhaps some of the losses were deliberate?
Think Spencer has cut down on her outfits considerably since the announcement of the split with Jamie.
I thought Hayley was going out with Chris Catlin – is that still going, if it was before the alleged home visits? They did separate last summer. I heard he was an assistant at John Hills’ yard but not sure if he is still there.
A work colleague has just named his baby boy Noah Alexander – Noah being decided on several months ago.Alexander is after himself.
RE Latin names: there are a lot of families particularly in Brazil and Argentina who have Welsh surnames as many families went there in the 19th century to work in the mines. A relative of mine was born in Patagonia after her family travelled there from South Wales.
Waiting in an A & E a couple of weeks ago while a young boy was running round and round and generally being a nuisance. I couldn’t help laugh when his name was called as it was Benjamin Nevis……do you think they thought about it, or not?
I think there are plenty of boys names you could go for which are safe but not anything that can be ‘played’ with by their peers. I would have recommended you not though to call him after one of my relatives, who is called Wren. He will be 5 on Friday. I fear for him when he gets to ‘big school’.
Love Divine wrote…Pretend to be a journalist.
Better still, pretend to be a pretentious journalist.
On second thoughts, maybe not, the queue might be too long.
I could name some that do!!Pretend to be a journalist.
The Last Fling probably the saddest as he’d been a favourite for many years and I always felt he was at the end of his tether when he fell and should have been pulled up.
and Goguenard.
TLF should have been pulled up – glory hunting by the jockey and I have never forgiven him for it.
Goguenard – I was told was hit by another horse at his back end and it broke his back – that was unlucky rather than through tiredness necessarily, but still very sad.
Persian Punch – I broke my heart.
D’Nurse – a two year, useless bless her, but I followed the family and she was the last foal.
I will actually be emotional if Kauto Star gets beaten!

So will I and I am supposed to be there, so it will get very messy.
