The details of how to apply for free entry during the up coming ‘Racing For Free Week’ for each course taking part is available from the BHA’s Gototheraces website. Of course we are dealing with R4C here so it’s not as easy as just turning up on the day (except Towcester).
In some cases we will need to fill out a short online questionnaire, which I think is fair enough, and in return will be sent an email which will need to be printed off to gain free entry. In other cases we will need to contact the course directly and pre-book.
At some courses entry is limited to two people per household, however at others, admittedly I don’t know for sure as I haven’t booked any tickets yet, it seems to be one ticket per application.
The details can be found atBHA’s Gototheraces Website[/url:143p2iug]
I have to say while welcoming and supporting this initiative I am a bit disappointed that the whole process has not been made simpler – with one website, a questionnaire for all courses and a one click booking system.
April 2, 2010 at 09:21 #287118Not wishing to pour water over a good idea but why is this being held at the end of May when everyone is at work or school? The perfect time to have run this scheme is now when people are having extended Easter holidays and its school holidays, another wasted opportunity thanks to Racing for Change.

· be friendly with a local farmer who gets comps from ‘The Major’
· Tesco clubcard points reward token
· stroll in unchallenged after the 5th for the lucky last
· wear short trousers and get a ‘lift over’ by older gent (should be under 26 for this)April 2, 2010 at 15:09 #287182Hide under the flouncy dress of Haydock’s finest?
April 2, 2010 at 15:59 #287194Agreed that it’s a bit of a rigmarole to get to the voucher. I’ve just printed off a few for Huntingdon’s evening meeting on 29th April. Not sure I want to complete the obligatory section relating to address and telephone number though. I’m not keen on the risk of being sold on to ‘double glazing’ or ‘you’ve won a holiday’ third parties. I’ll just have to find a way round it I suppose.

Better still, pretend to be a pretentious journalist.
On second thoughts, maybe not, the queue might be too long.
April 3, 2010 at 21:37 #287375How naive of me to think that this free racing malarkey would be just as it said on the tin.
It’s hardly going to have much reach if planning, websites and vouchers are involved.
Does this mean that turn-ups will have to pay? There may be plenty of the latter who’ve heard by word of mouth and will appear expecting to get straight in.
