Richard Hughes was riding like he was half asleep before he flew to Singapore,he’s riding at Windsor tonight as though he hasn’t woken up from his nightmare out in the far east!
Monsieur Chevalier
should have been 3rd in the listed race! Fair play to the winner though,he will have a go at the Golden Jubilee now, back to handicaps for Evens and Odds i’m afraid.
To be honest Staffy that is exactly what i have done but forgot to mention it,i do think he is a fine physical specimen mind so dont let me put you off if you fancy him.

I have looked at this 7,40pm at Windsor several times today and i’m not convinced this Bated Breath is a 5/4fav,he is progressive but he has plenty time to do just that,i know he would struggle to get past the stables Genki, who is a reliable yardstick,if the official handicapper says there’s 3lb between them,i would agree at this stage of his career.Triple Aspect won this last year but i reckon it was a weaker race, however he ran a blinder behind Delegator at York and that form is rock solid,Horseradish will get a decent prize when he gets his toe in,any cut at all and he would have been a player.Monsieur Chevalier was a cracking 2yo,his run in the abbaye was top class for one so young and if he is anywhere near fit is overpriced at 14/1,however on a line through the fav being 5/4 and Genki being rated the better horse i have to stay loyal to the horse who has beaten Genki and at 14/1 is my e/w selection,

Deegs64 try the Calloway Razr, its very forgiving, the regular shaft has a lovely whip to it but i still use my Calloway Diablo in comps for now.I cant fault Calloway even their FTi’s are still awesome.GDC,there were 2 horses to take out of the Temple imo,one is

,dwelt at the start, pointed his toe like a ballet dancer so if he gets fast ground wherever he goes next time he’s a serious player,he wasn’t actually catching Prohibit but he was going past the remainder with ease, keep your eye out for him.I’m just keeping my eye on the weather at Windsor at the moment by the way!
On form Seville looks a cracking bet Gord. I’m also on him ante-post since the start of the season. But is he going to run?
Thank goodness i dont have to make money playing Golf,i never hit one good drive on the range with this R11 and yet i still bought it!Back to business Ginger, you can hold your own with just about anyone on here, just about! If i was offering odds on the Coolmore/O Brien horses chances of running in the Derby i would go 1/5 Seville, there is absolutely no reason not to run him and Aidan knows he will give Carlton House the shock of his life but wont say as much, money talks Ginge,we know that and cometh the day Seville will be 7/2,to be a success at this game you have to have the courage of your convictions so keep the faith and keep taking the 7/1 e/w.No way will he be out of the 3.Just remember this Ginger.-

You know!

I’m a busy man today testing this latest R11 all white driver from Taylormade, its a bit loud so hopefully will suit me just fine,i like a 10.5 degree loft normally as i like to see a ball climb slowly generating plenty run on landing,i go through drivers like Howard Johnson goes through jockeys but its the club that gives me the greatest pleasure when i catch one right,we’ll see.I shall however make sure i’m back for the 7.40pm at Windsor tonight as i am going for a bit of a touch on one there,i’ll explain later!
This weekends results in Ireland have done nothing but bolster my faith in
Seville
winning the Derby and i am more confident than ever having kept the faith with Roderic and Misty. All this will he/wont he run business makes no sense at all to me,this fellow was born to win the Derby and i have supported him since last year at 16/1 down to 10/1 to £500,(not included in this thread),however winning is the name of the game so i have had another wager on him to do just that purely for the benefit of this thread, hows that for confidence?

I have given Victor Chandler notice that the King will make a stand in the race named after me and he obviously wants to stand his ground too, respect to the man,but if he continues to put up 40/1 about a horse who is half those odds everywhere else then i am going to take them.
I see Victor chandler have finally cut
Prohibit
to 25/1,thats still a big price but more in keeping with the horses actual chances,i’m pleased to see money for him!

Lets have a look at this Irish 1000gns then,- right, Wild wind beats Laughing Lashes in June and Together beats Laughing lashes in July,Ok,Laughing lashes goes on to beat Misty for me in early August before Misty for me beats her in late August with Together 4th and Wild wind 5th but Together then finishes in front of both Misty for me and Laughing lashes in the 1000gns! Easy its

Just backed Misty For Me myself Gord, got 9/1 with Ladbrokes about half an hour ago. She was the most fancied of the stable at Newmarket and I’m hoping she’ll show why today!
Good luck Tommy, its reassuring a good judge like yourself fancies her too,i just think she has the most improvement of the O Brien horses, obviously thats if she has ‘come forward’ for her run in the Guineas as Aidan loves to say! Her Group 1 winning form is solid,i do fear Together most mind.particularly with Ryan on board.

Roderic O’Connor got a great ride (well done, Gord, couldn’t have had him) but let’s not go overboard – he’s won the worst Irish Guineas in well over a decade. And he shouldn’t have.
Couldn’t agree more Zarkava,it certainly makes up for at least one of those photo finishes that went against me! Dubawi Gold showed he is progressing the right way and the St James Palace stakes is his obvious target next,Frankels bubble will pop sooner or later,he’s a fruitcake who gets his own way!

Its been a busy days racing and one or 2 eyecatchers for Royal Ascot have been noted. The horse who really impressed me today was
Prohibit
,he is still improving and today showed he is not out of place in a Group 1.Victor Chandler are still offering 40/1 about this fellows chances in the Kings Stand and have taken my £50 e/w at the price, the stiffer 5f at Ascot will suit even more and he should get the cover he needs,i reckon Frankie will get the ride and he should be able to commit him late,if he repeats todays finishing kick (Something Kingsgate Native wont) he wins! Watch that 40/1 dissapear overnight now The King of Ante-Post has spoken!

I have been enjoying Richard Hughes weekly contribution to Saturdays Racing Post,he has been very candid and open about his opinions on racing matters, his views on the Clerks of courses today was bang on,however he read the race tactics of todays Irish 2000gns perfectly on paper and yet in reality he rode a stinker.Richard expected Roderics 2 pacemakers to set off at a rate of knots setting him up to hit the front 2 out and then cause havoc for his own mount as they form a wall as they weaken out of it.Richard should have realised as soon as Joseph decided to make his own running on Roderic that he needed to be closer, that was a tip in itself, anyone who saw Roderic run against Frankel in last years Dewhurst would know he wasn’t going to stop today, then again some took their meeting in the 2000gns as gospel,i doubt whether Richard will get the good nights sleep he was hoping for after that,he’s in for another potential nightmare riding Presvis tomorrow,i hope he gets the dream run he needs personally as i like the way he talks.By the way Joseph rode an absolute peach of a race and those who backed him had faith in the decision to let him ride.
Oh Gord, Al Zir’s horribly overrated. Hoping Man of Action gets trapped wide & does nothing, nice warm-up for next month

Well read Zarkava,i like strong opinions!

7/4 Dubawi Gold, dont make me laugh.Yet again the bookmakers have priced a race with a false favourite just to draw the Gullible Red Chalk brigade into their clutches. Both
Roderic ‘o’ Connor
and Dunboyne Express are different class and will prove it in Saturdays Irish 2000gns,i could understand Dunboyne being fav as he beat Roderic easily on their debut but my assessment of these 2 Irish colts was that the former was a far more precocious 2yo,i can see both going further in time as 3yo’s and i believe if the real Roderic turns up on Saturday he wins.
