I like taking on these so called foreign superstar sprinters in this country at short prices,Scenic Blast was a fine example.I dont know how good this ‘Budapest Bullet’is but i know how these Hungarians can exaggerate,i have tasted their Goulash and having been told that a 1000yrs ago it was made from horsemeat i can see why
Overdose
runs so bloody fast! I like the way Tangerine Trees is progressing,he proved it was no fluke beating Captain Dunne and Tax Free at Beverley by going on to win his next 2 races at Newmarket, however i’m going for a horse who has been knocking on the door lately and i reckon his turn could come on Saturday, particularly if the Bullet goes off like one and sets it up for
Prohibit
,he is a solid e/w bet imo at 16/1.

£100 e/w 16/1 Stan James, Temple Stakes.
My idea of a Royal Hunt Cup winner,
Man of Action
, (Galloping straight mile)!makes his seasonal debut over a sharp turning 7f today and is drawn wide, whatever he does today he will improve for and hopefully see his Ascot price (20/1) contract,My idea of todays winner is
Balcarce Nov
,he has everything in his favour to make all and at 12/1 is worth an e/w interest.
Man of Action
£50 e/w Hunt Cup 20/1 Tote
Balcarce Nov
£50 e/w 12/1 Bet365 4.0pm Chester.

Hello king, hopefully you’ll be collecting off Barney McGrew today. Willing to give him another chance also. Fingers crossed. If he doesn’t come in, good luck to your other pair.
VTC,he is more than capable, his Meydan form stands up and his Ayr Gold Cup form is rock solid,Ancient Cross wont see which way he went if he runs to the above form,i know its a capital IF though,if you know what i mean!

Cumani horses FLYING. Forte Dei Marmi bolts in all day long.
Oh dear i hate to be a party poop Zarkava but i reckon an 85% fit
Al Zir
can still win this,i dont think for one minute we have seen the best of this horse and he always had the build of one that would develop as he matured,i like him a lot and always have done.
Al Zir
£300 win 10/30 Bet365,3,20 Goodwood.
£1350
This class 2, 5f sprint at York tomorrow is an absolute cracker,my old pal
Tax Free
is handicapped to win this,if he’s kicking his stable wall tonight he’ll make them all go,28/1 is too big for this reliable 9yo.
Waffle
is the young pretender here and his progressive profile puts him in future Group company if he can pull this one off.Last but not least is
Barney Mcgrew
,his last effort,or lack of more like was in a 12k race over C/D,this one is worth 28k to the winner and i can see Barney improving no end for the step up in prize money!
There are 5 places up for grabs with SkyBet at 1/4 odds,i know their prices are a touch shorter but that 5th place can be a saviour.Waffle
£100 e/w 7/1 SkyBet
Barney Mcgrew
£50 e/w 10/1 SkyBet
Tax Free
£25 e/w 28/1 SkyBet.
£1650Well spotted Zarkava,i hope you topped up with the 8/1,i have been keeping my powder dry for the weekend but if i had read your post earlier i could easily have been tempted,i do like Kings Best as a Sire i must say, shall watch the race later,Cheers,Gord.
7/4 Dubawi Gold, dont make me laugh.Yet again the bookmakers have priced a race with a false favourite just to draw the Gullible Red Chalk brigade into their clutches. Both
Roderic ‘o’ Connor
and Dunboyne Express are different class and will prove it in Saturdays Irish 2000gns,i could understand Dunboyne being fav as he beat Roderic easily on their debut but my assessment of these 2 Irish colts was that the former was a far more precocious 2yo,i can see both going further in time as 3yo’s and i believe if the real Roderic turns up on Saturday he wins.
Roderic O Connor
£300 win 10/3 Tote, Irish 2000gns.
£2000

Point North is the only other horse in my notebook entered in either race (Hunt Cup). Similar prep to Forgotten Voice, 8f handicap at Kempton. He won off 90 pre-Ascot, Point North won off 80. He beat Chiefdom Prince in a maiden at the end of last year but Chiefdom Prince did nothing for the form last time out.
I remember
Point North
alright Sacred, but for all the wrong reasons, did you ever read this interesting thread?
https://theracingforum.co.uk/horse-r … ilit=point north tapk
The race in question, that would be some Hunt Cup coup!
http://www.attheraces.com/VideoConsole/ … 11_07_1710Gordon – Hunt Cup and Wokingham fancies?
Zarkava,i currently have only one horse i’m interested in for the Hunt Cup and that is
Man of Action
,basically his profile suits my criteria,he trades at 20/1 at the moment 23’s on the machine.
The Wokingham is an old favourite of mine ever since my all time favourite sprinter proved you can be born a handicapper and grow into a Group 1 winner,Petong
,what a horse! Anyway i still believe in Group horses carrying their share of weight can win the top handicap sprints and this year my 2 class sprinters masquerading as handicappers are
Victoire de Lyphar
,16’s and
Hoof it
,10’s both have masses of scope. If Sir Reginald 25’s wasn’t a 3yo i would give him a big shout also. What do you have your eye on Sacred one?
That was a serious St Leger performance from
Masked Marvel
there,i can see a return for the Gordon Stakes then Great Voltigeur, unfortunately i haven’t seen a price anywhere,Mr Gosden will have a strong hand again come September,i might just phone Corals out of interest.
Picture Editor
lacks the scope of the winner to be anything special i’m afraid.
I have had just the one bet today in Goodwoods 4,20,what used to be known as the Predominate Stakes, the last Derby trial.I am convinced
Picture Editor
needs this trip and his gallop with Frankel in the Greenham the other day will have shaken off the cobwebs,4/1 with Corals seems very generous to me,i dont see why Badeel should be a 6/4fav,his win at Nottingham was pleasing to the eye the other day but his time was poor, this
Masked Marvel
is another who will improve for a step up in trip,Mr Gosden will be using him as a marker for his real St Leger horse,Nathaniel.

£280 win 4/1 Corals, Goodwood 4,20pm.
KF: Cannot believe the price of Picture Editor at all.
Crazy market today in this raceGDC, when i looked at the race last night on the RP website
without any prices marked up,my initial reaction was 2/1Picture Editor
would be nice as i certainly made him favourite in my world, all i can think is the odds compilers are using Richard Hannons Measuring time as the marker horse,i personally am using Genius Beast as i see him as a progressive sort who wants 11/2m,its a fascinating little race,i just hope mine is not another Bullet Train who looked like a quality horse in the making but has since finished stone cold last more times than its won! We’ll see shortly.
Staffy,my main concern with Auld Burns is he hasn’t clocked a time that says ‘one to watch’ he did run a good race when he was 6th behind I love me in the Tattersal Millions at Newmarket when giving the winner a stone in weight, his form to me looks that of a decent handicapper in the making, not a Derby winning Gelding!
Staffy, dont let me put you off Auld burns today as this game is all about opinions but i think Masked Marvel will improve past Auld burns due to the step up in trip, unlike you i’m not so sure Auld burns will appreciate this further trip thats why he was the first horse i discounted,i even think that Namibian will beat him today! I am convinced the Nathaniel form with
Picture Editor
is the best on offer today and that Masked Marvel is the long term ‘Cup’ horse in the race! Watch your horse hose in now!

This
Burwaaz
stood out in the paddock Zarkava,he was relaxed and imposing, completely different to the favourite Universal, who was very jig joggy and keen,it was about this time last year that
Elzaam
made his debut and then went on to contest the Coventry and i can see this fellow doing the same thing,he certainly looks like a colt who will excel at 6f,i just hope Richard Hills can this year!
If that horse doesn’t win next time out and prove to be the best horse in the race then I know nothing about racing.
Burwaaz
was the horse to take from the meeting Zarkava so you have no worries there! He should have won,Richard Hills defineately had an issue with his reins about 10yds from the line from where i was stood you would have said he dropped his hands but a replay on the big screen showed he nearly took the right hand rein over the horses head, the horse defineately eased up. He then got beat in another photo which he should have won if only he went a bit faster on
Baqaat
,instead of clocking a ridiculously slow time, almost 7secs slower than standard on firm ground! The race he did win was on a horse who should have been beaten,
Mashaaref
in another photo finish, the 2nd was badly impeded a furlong out and it cost it the race.5 photo finishes from 7 races today and guess what i was beaten again in one,Dandys
Dr Red Eye
.Nottingham is still the best course in the country for a days racing imo, even when i lose!
