    I’m sorry, but i have to beg to differ.  I’ve just watched an inerview on TV with Ben Needhams mother, he disappeared in Kos 16 years ago and he nor his body have ever been found.  She belives that if they had the media coverage and global communication the McCann’s have had he may of been found, the British media weren’t involved until  a week after he went missing, by then he could have been anywhere.

    In cases such as this they need to get her face everywhere so people know about her, last week on the news they were in a spanish village just over the border and probably only 50% of the people asked recognised who she was.  Imagine one of those people had seen her but didn’t know her from Adam that could be important information to pass on to the police.

    I don’t have a problem with David Beckham getting involved, simalary Ronaldo as they are both well known faces in Spain & Portugal, and bby putting their appeals on Spanish TV its getting into another audience and if that helps find her alive, and catch the sicko who took her then all the better.

    I hope to god that shes found alive, her parents must be going through hell, I don’t think i’d cope if my little boy went missing (i wouldn’t have left him on his own for a start but thats a different matter)

    I’ve just found out my ex is auditioning to get in the next BB, he would fit right in with all the other knobheads in there IMO!

    I look forward to the day actually, as i will really enjoy telling the tabloids everything about him and ruining his life, and getting paid for it, even better!!!!  Might even see some of the 500 quid he "borrowed" off me which i never got back!!

    Me, bitter……..nah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Quote: from Soba on 9:03 pm on Nov. 17, 2006[br]Another reason given for the above is that a large majority (especially horses in training) can suffer from gastric ulcers, the horse then eases them by windsucking so as to cool them down and alleviate the pain. A girl i knew who had a windsucker gave her horse antacids after being told by a wise old old timer to try which helped it in a huge way. Strange but true!

     <br>

    Yep Soba I belive this is the new thing(well in last few years) that the experts have been investigating.  It does give a reason why TBs seem to suffer from this behaviour (is not a "vice" anymore) due to the high amount of concentrates, and low forage (also linked with boredom, & natural instincts).  The behaviour also often happens when a horse is eating, we had one who’d take a bite of food, then crib on the door, then take another bite, then crib and carry on like this.  He did it every meal and it never caused him a problem, he never looked poor and won a good few races, at the end of his 2yo season he was valued at £60k.

    Bond Boy has mirrors in his stable, he was a terrible boxwalker and they worked a treat, either he thought he had company or was incredibly vain (probably the latter!) My horse also boxwalked and she had tyres in her box to calm it, although she soon learnt to move them (clever animal, no wonder she never ran!)

    There was a lecture on behaviour at a Cheltenham Veterinary Conference a few years back, and I also did behaviour modules for my HND so i shall look up my notes to see if i can find anything of interest specifically towards racehorses.

    This is such tragic news, i’m totally stunned.  I have many fond memories over the 5 years i’ve been on TRF, chat room quizzes especially, and the day out we all had at Towcester.

    My thoughts are with you and the little one, and the rest of your family.  If theres anything you need, you know where I am and the whole forum are hear for you.

    I was just thinking the very same Rory, i’ve known a few horses do that.

    One night we’d come back to the yard around 3.30am and had to walk past the bottom row of stables to get to the caravans.  We noticed there was some shadows lurking, and thought it was the ghost of Bill Pearce! But no, one of the horses had let itself out and was wandering round the yard.

    Ali Oasis could get his rugs off over his head (even with a fillet string and girth straps on!!!), every morning there’d be a pile of rugs outside his door!  When he was tied up Saros could get a headcoller or bridle off his head and if the door wasn’t bolted shut he’d get loose!

    Back to the subject, yes i believe horses do know when they’ve won, purely because of the praise and body language from connections towards them.
