My concern with him (and Baron Windrush) is that they may not have recovered from their hard races in the Eider. Korelo and Dunbrody Millar both ran lifeless races in the William Hill and High Cotton also ran poorly in the four miler.

Quite like the look of Trust Fund who likes the course, is probably well handicapped and should stay the trip.

I’ll be on Philson Run tomorrow.

On a sideline, has anyone ever known Uttoxeter to be anything other than heavy?

When Ackzo won this corresponding race six years ago, just six runners took part on account of the unusually firm going.

Only four of the last ten renewals have been run on soft/heavy ground – nothing carrying eleven stone or more has completed the course in any of them. GVA Ireland for me, with Eskimo Pie and Victory Gunner also at big prices.

I’ve got a decent price (27 on Betfair) about Victory Gunner who should be suited by the slog.

Slightly disappointed that there’s no Tony Martin runner, as he often hides one away for this sort of event!

It seems strange that AP is riding Stormez rather than World Wide Web….

Got this down to Eskimo Pie, King Bee and Trust Fund. With a slight preference for King Bee.

Eider looks like it’s a hard race to recover from. Surely it is time for Pipey to find a new career for Stormez. He shouldn’t be asked to race over fences in these gruelling contests again.
