Racing has some bent people in it. Harry Findaly is not one of them.

Is it me, or does Mr O’Brien seem to reek of desperation here? Seems like he is so desperate to win the Derby with St Nic, that he is risking not winning it at all.

If Jan Vermeer or Cape Blanco doesn’t win, I for one will be on the Abdulla horses.

Just curious, what have everyone backed, and what are you going to back?

I personally have Chabal and Cape Blanco

I ended up making £50 from it, but it should never have been. Stewards must think they are in France!

How AOB could not run Cape Blanco is absolutely absurd. He ran in the best Derby trial, and destroyed the field, easily, beating 3 horses who are expected to run in the race (Chabal, Co-ordinated Cut and Workforce).

If he doesn’t run in The Derby, I will personally lose a lot of respect for him.

Cape Blanco was lame after the Dante and is far from certain to stay 1m4f. Epsom is about the worst course you could take a horse prone to lameness. Chantilly is flat and their Derby is over shorter. So I’d say France is the best option for the horse. Not absurd at all.
Holes can be picked in the form too. Chabal ran no sort of race and Workforce did not show what he could do (slipping bitt). Was beating Coordinated Cut by that far Derby winning form?
Keep an eye on Bin Surroor’s form, if he starts firing them in Chabal could be value (big IF). With lameness and stamina worries about Cape Blanco, Workforce could reverse the placings if taking his chance.

Coolmore denied all reports of Cape Blanco being lame. And am I right in thinking no horse who has lost in the Dante has gone on to win the Derby?

If you’re in a good mood, he’s good to watch, in a bad one, and becomes irritating.

Agreed with the Sean Boyce point. Easily the best on there, nice relaxed but formal approach.

I attended the free week at Doncaster, it was farcical planning, and full to bursting. Got caned too and the last 3 races. Not good..

Lolly for Dolly, all over it, was extremely impressive when winning a couple of weeks back, and held in high regard by the yard.

Aidan said JanVermeer will go to the french derby without a preliminary race or to the Derby with a preliminary race. So if he runs on the weekend he goes to Epsom. Does that make sense?

    Thank Your sir!

Anyone know what on earth is the reason for the price changes on the machines?

    Fencing Master 80s – 50s
    Jan Vermeer 44s – 27s
    Midas Touch 15s – 9s

    Cape Blanco, now 9.6!

    Whats the craic?

Emma Spencer and Mike Cattermole may appear as eye candy to some (there’s no accounting for taste) but to suggest they’re good for racing is laughable.
Racing is a sport, not a quiz show, and needs to be presented by people who know what they’re talking about if it’s ever to make sense to the aspirant punter.

    Fantastic post and point.
