146-4 20 What About Me (BNolan) – (94)Big fan of Stack’s filly myself. I liked her on debut down at Mallow and she looked very smart here the last day. I would love to see her win it for Oratorio who was a big favourite of mine. Did me a few favours when he beat Motivator twice a few years back.
May 18, 2010 at 23:06 #296196Better race than the English version I believe and the winner will be a good filly.
Stack’s filly Lolly for Dolly was impressive the other day and has to have a big chance. Everything went against her in the race but when the gap appeared she quickened up in the style of a good filly.
There are four others I have on my shortlist currently; Music Show, Bethrah, Anna Salai and Termagant.
Channon’s filly should get a fair crack of the whip this time and the ground looks ideal. She doesn’t look short of stamina either so the track should not be a hindrance. Whether she will quite have the class I don’t know.
Bethrah showed a good attitude last time and despite not being knocked about managed to maintain her unbeaten record. On a strict line through Atasari she has a bit to find with Music Show who looks to have improved through the winter but I couldn’t completely rule her out.
Termagant is an interesting filly and although her Moyglare victory was on heavy ground she beat Cabaret in her maiden on good ground and that looks solid form so the ground should be fine. I’m not concerned about her stamina because I believe Prendergast is planning to run her in an oaks and she looked to stay well at 2. She could be anything and I have a feeling she may be better over further but she could still have the class to win this.
I don’t know that much about the French Godolphin import but I do know she thumped Rosanara (Not sure how fit she was) easily and so has to be a danger.
I’m finding it hard to whittle the list down any further than that at the moment although I think Bethrah probably has the weakest credentials.
May 18, 2010 at 23:25 #296198It would be quite something if both Fencing Master and Lolly for Dolly won. Has Oratorio had many big winners yet, or is this his first crop?
May 18, 2010 at 23:34 #296199First crop, Moe.

has a touch of class about her and en-route to winning the Coronation stakes can take this!

Judged on both her runs this season, Music Show won’t last home, either here or at Ascot.

We"ll see Sunday Reet, but our history makes me 4/7fav, 5/4 against you being right!
May 19, 2010 at 21:12 #296265In total agreement with Gordon. Can’t have Music Show beaten. Channon’s been desperately unlucky with his 3yo fillies. Nahoodh should have won at HQ, Lahaleeb could have won last year with some cut in the ground and was desperately unlucky not to win the Irish version, while Music Show could easily have won this year’s had she been drawn on the other side of the track.
May 19, 2010 at 21:50 #296269Lolly for Dolly, all over it, was extremely impressive when winning a couple of weeks back, and held in high regard by the yard.

Zark/TAPK
I thought immediately after the Guineas that Music Show would be overbet in her next race, and nothing has changed my mind since. She came to win her race on the far side fully 2 from home and, despite being given the much harder ride, was actually losing ground to stayer Rumoush in the closing stages. Might be worth noting that her full sister was also a sprinter.TAPK
Your arithmetic, like your memory, is shot to bits.
May 20, 2010 at 14:55 #296321Termagant for me – she was 2/2 last year including an easy debut success over a couple of decent Ballydoyle fillies. Big price for her second start in the Moyglare Stud Stakes which again resulted in a comfortable success on soft ground over some very useful fillies (Famous, Lillie Langtry, Long Lashes, Gile Na Greine – placed in 1000 Guineas, Gold Bubbles – runner-up in the Musidora and Wrong Answer – listed winner)and Prendergast thinks she’ll be better on a faster surface (like her sire Powerscourt).
Think given she’s unbeaten and is from a top yard the 8/1 for this and the 20/1 for the Oaks are both massive prices.

Irish,
do you have any statistics on horses winning classics with 250+ day break?
think you’re asking for the impossible, maybe has Pretty Polly in mind?
Famous and Cabaret have both proven to be very below par this year, you have to question her form.
May 21, 2010 at 11:25 #296374Sorry Mr. Wilson I’ve no stats on it but I can’t see it being too much of a problem, this is seen as a prep for the Epsom Oaks btw according to a quote by Prendergast on 30th April (in Racing Post).
May 21, 2010 at 12:08 #296378Remember When will run a big race in preparation for the Oaks. Her most recent race at Gowran behind Chinese White was really impressive for a three year old.
May 21, 2010 at 14:56 #296394Remember When has to go close here imo…different gravy to the rest
