Today is a good example of the BEEBs shocking racing schedule. The poor ‘analogue’ punter is missing a great Ascot card that used to be a regular TV fixture, two listed races and the G3 Sagaro.
BUT they get to watch that really exciting armchair sport of snooker all week :?
    WTF are they thinking?

The BBC have done more to kill racing than most in this country. ATR had great coverage of Ascot.

Is RIP VW going to run in this does anyone know?

He is entered, but Ballydoyle are now suggesting that they might wait for Ascot to unleash RVW.

Love the use of the word ‘unleashed’ there! Rip Van Winkle WILL go unbeaten in 2010. You heard it here first.

Backed Lacdoudal, Burren Legend both at 40s and Air Force One at 19s on the machines AP.

Would love to see AP to round of his season with this, but thats not going to happen if he chooses (or has to)ride Can’t Buy Time. Eric’s Charm on the other hand . .

Personally thought AP gave another excellent ride on Denman, gutted I didn’t back planet of sound, as I had a considerable wager on it at Cheltenham!

Anybody else fancying Alavain in the 4yo hurdle?

Its not just the big bookies, my local small bookmakers, Jack Pearsons, refused to refund my bet as they said ‘it wasn’t down as a non runner, therefore no refund’. It is simply outrageous, and punters have been robbed blind again.

Main danger is himself? The irish are raiding with a not so secret weapon as someone who has already mentioned!

Black Apalachi’s jumping was incredible bar the one mistake. To carry that weight and jump so fluently and cleanly over that trip was a great training performance by Dessie Hughes, and great ride by DOR.

If AP was on Black Apalachi on the run in however, and Denis o’ Regan was on Don’t Push It, I truly believe that Black Apalachi would have got up. AP was just in one his moods where he was not to be denied.

I don’t think Allis likes the "new breed" he is surrounded by now.

    Regards – Matron

Peter Allis is the best commentator on the Beeb full stop. He’s only behind Sid Waddell for me in current UK sport commentators.

And Claire Balding is just so incredibly BBC. Agree with the Blue Peter point.

Lee Mackenzie and Darren Owen did great jobs, some much needed enthusiasm injected into the broadcast.

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned elsewhere, or indeed if I’ve got my facts wrong (highly likely!!), but I heard this was McCoys 15th attempt at winning the National. Didn’t Frankie win the Derby at his 15th attempt as well on Authorised?

Yes he did, my mate said on that day too, AP will win the national at his 15th attempt too, but then forgot to back yesterday haha!

As someone who has always rated Nina very highly I’ve just put my money where my mouth is…£750 EW @ 16-1
The last time I had more than a fiver on any horse in The National was on Mely Moss and the time before was Spartan Missile…..so by to the stats she’ll probably be second :(

Trends wise, greys have a terrible record in the national, you are a brave man sir!

Seems to be a requirement. Channel 4 has Thommo.

Thommo is like one of those uncle’s you see every so often at family do’s, I half expect him to try and pull a penny from someone’s ear everytime he’s on.

On another note, Ian Bartlett is absolutely horrible. They should have gone for Lee Mackenzie.
